I always find it mind boggling when the flood water levels are shown on buildings (Pafuri picnic site, Shingwedzi etc) and I stand there and realise that water would have been twice as high as what I am. But yes, the rivers got a good clean out, and now, 2023, it has happened again.

I remember these rains very well. My hometown next to the Kruger was also devastated! My late grandmother told us about this type of rain happening when she was a little girl, at the time they were staying in Mozambique. She recalls her granny too telling her about the same rains which means they happen after a few decades when 50 years have passed.

I know especially well this statue of Paul Kruger... and never seen that before, well done, nice footage. A big thank you to all the staff for that difficult work and for helping all people stuck in the camps.... shame what a disaster...
