Great video once again. I love to visit Giant Springs and Roe River in Great Falls. Big, cold spring and very, very short river 😉

I will actually visit Montana the coming July if only for two nights. One in Billings and one in Cooke City. Just planned that yesterday.

We grew up in Eastern Montana, so to add to this wonderful video are more touristy spots. Fort Peck Dam is the largest hydraulically filled Earthen Dam in the World. Rodeos are a must see throughout the State. Big Sky ski resorts, down hill and cross country skiing are both very popular. There are 56 counties in Montana and 55 State Parks to adventure. Montana has the most Registered Angus cattle with ranches all over the state and some you can experience a Cattle Drive on. It is the Treasure State with an abundance of gemstones for jewelry and trinkets. Fly fishing as they did from the movie "A River Runs Through It". There are Seven Native American Reservations in Montana and watching a Pow Wow is inspiring. Just a few of more to see in Montana.

Excellent info., thank you. 🙏 Being a foreigner, I just completed reading a Juvenile Literature book on Montana and I loved every page of it. I only passed through northern route of MT by Amtrak in July of 1993. Above all, I was interested in MT after seeing the movie "Legends of the Fall" that continues to stay in my memory even though it was not filmed in MT.

Another terrific video and presentation from We’re In The Rockies, which we consider the Best KZfaq video on camping and traveling in great America’s West. Your videography is great, and we love your information you present. It’s obvious that you have done a lot of subject research and that you know your subject. I especially enjoyed the video of Gates of the Mountains and the historical perspective of the Lewis and Clark expedition that you present. Same with the Great Falls area. That certainly is beautiful country, as is the rest of the state that you show. Montana is definitely The Big Sky state! Happy Trails!

Sorry to hear you missed out on Bozeman, where I grew up. It was much smaller than today, and the last time I was there, I felt like a foreigner. The church in Helena was modelled after the Votiv Church in Vienna, Austria, according to a cousin of mine. Bozeman was named after John Bozeman a friend of Jim Bridger, thus the Bridger Mountain in the background along with Sacajawea.

If you look up loose horse haying , on youtube you will see the draft horse club putting on a demonstration of haying with horses the way it used to be done in Montana, the contraption you were talking about is called a beverslide, the hay is already dry when we put it in the haystack, I'm on the front cover of the DVD with my percherons, I am the teamster running the Beaver slide, the documentary explains everything,

Love this very informative video although you lost me when you said they’re introducing bear, letting them roam free, and if you want you can stay in a teepee. Not likely!

Does anyone recommend going in February (my birth month) never been there and really wanting to go
@WereintheRockies
@WereintheRockies Жыл бұрын
It depends on what you want to do. It will still be very cold in February and will probably still have snow.
@JoeNegan
@JoeNegan Жыл бұрын
No, February, IMHO, has the most -30 temps, wind that blows sideways, and snow drifts 10 feet high. Travel is very risky. The best time to visit is June thru September.
