Laura, the UV lamp is totally safe. You’d have to stay in the lamp 500 hours to get any uv reaction. I’m a licensed nail tech 33 years. You get more UV in your car!

Also you can't fully cure with those little lamps, those are just for flash curing to initially secure the nail. The primer goes on after the dehydrator. Hope that helps!! Good luck

Also, you’ll need to use the bigger lamp to cure the bonding gel. That little baby lamp is ONLY to flash cure to adhere the tip to your nail.

@@laura88lee DO NOT GET THAT GEL ON YOUR SKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough! Look up gel allergies. Not to be so dramatic, but improper application and over-exposure can cause allergic reactions. ( Speaking from experience) I bought the same kit, now I am unable to wear gel/acrylates of any kind.

Laura, you need to completely cured your nails in the big UV light. Those little ones are for flash cured, when you’re gluing the extension to your nail.

Please watch a Gelx tutorial! You can use that little light to flash cure, but you absolutely NEED to fully cure in a regular lamp so they stay and you don't get pop-offs/infection. I would suggest an efile too. It's a process, but I've been doing mine for over a year now.

Get the fingerless gloves for uv nail lights if you are worried about the exposure.

I get TMJ from sinuses and clenching. I sleep with a night guard from the dentist and not over the counter, they are better. Did you know TMJ causes PSOAS pain in the pelvis, it does. The night guard takes a minute to get used too and they work to ease pain.

I do Gel-X all the time and I would recommend a goose neck up/led light. With the extend gel, it’s so much easier with a goose neck light since you need to hold the nail on while it cures than the little light you have. Just something I wish I would have known when I started using full cover tips!! Also, you want to use the dehydrator, primer and then put the nail on with the extend gel. Although, I prefer to put a layer of extend gel, cure it and then actually put more extend gel on to attach the nail, but I have been using base coat to attach the nail and that’s a bit thinner usually. Definitely give yourself some grace when applying gel-x though! It takes a bit to figure out how much gel to use and the pressure to apply without the gel squishing out and making a mess!! ❤

As a nail tech I'll tell you, it will take you 100x longer if you try to fully cure your gel x with that finger lamp. It's good for keeping it in place as you finish your whole hand but they need a full cure under stronger light

The UV light will put a lot of light out. Also those small one finger ones aren’t strong enough to fully cure the nails. They make gloves you can wear for the uv lights.

Stinky socks are from the polyester. It’s like wearing a plastic bag on your sweaty feet. Look for natural fiber socks Cotton, wool, bamboo, silk ….. Also if you wear plastic shoes

I’m in the dental field, Tyler should seriously consider botox for TMJ. I did it 4 weeks ago and it has gotten rid of my jaw pain and ear aches! Life saver often insurance will cover it😊

Hi, I love your videos. I had terrible TMJ also. Tell your husband to find a very good oral surgeon that specializes in TMJ. I’ve had it for years and got to the point where I could not even eat without pain. I had oral surgery on both jaw joints and now I can eat without pain. Don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. I bought that same wrap ice pack That your husband got, and I used it after surgery. It was great. Believe me, get an oral surgeon that specializes in TMJ and his life will be so much better. It will not get better on its own. He has to find out what’s wrong with his joint in his jaw

I will say, keep them croc flip flops. i have a similar pair, less of a platform, but they are the COMFIEST and the best flip flops for support. the only other brand i like for sandals is teva. but i live in my crocs flip flops

Laura, I have TMJ and I grind my teeth at night I found out- so I have a night guard that I sleep with. Helps a lot! Not sure if that’s an issue for Ty. Love you guys !
