I seem to have no problem unhauling books. It's the act of ACTUALLY moving them out of my house or rather finding SOMEPLACE to put/leave/gift them is where my struggles begin 😅

@@bettisbooksandbabblings That sounds awful. I was lifting this one bag just STUFFED with dvds. I had no idea they could be so heavy! I was both winded and my back was throbbing afterwards. I totally thought I fucked up after that. How’s your back now? Is it all better?

I just wanted to say thank you for reading middle grades and talking about them. Because of you and jade I felt comfortable when my boss asked me to become kids lead at Barnes and nobles. I love seeing your opinions on them. Can't wait to see what your new library is going to look like 😁

@@Rainbopagn yeah I've had a few kittens get behind heavy furniture and it took forever to get them out. One even went in the attic and fell behind the wall and we had to make a hole in the wall to get him out.

I LOVE moving unhauls because it drives people to be ruthless and you really did it so well! The only book where I was like D: was the christmasaurus middle grades (because I love them) and seven mercies because I think it is super underrated! But otherwise I agree with pretty much everything you unhauled and woo for changing tastes!

I’ve seen lots of KZfaqrs list their books on Vinted and share the link on Instagram and they sell super quick as I’ve gone on to look then gone back and most have sold esp the special edition ones!

Early last year I moved houses (and cities) and I got rid of over 900 books. 😎😎 it was soooooo much easier to do the boxing/moving afterwards. 😂 I now barely own 100 books and I'm extremely happy with them. They look more organised and cleaner. Lol 😊❤ these days I prefer ebooks and audiobooks, anyway.

Moving stresses me out so much, I’ve never added unhauling books into the mix. Love that so many people find peace in letting go, but for me it’s a struggle. Plus, my husband and I are both readers as are our two kids, so even if I didn’t care for a book, I hesitate to get rid of it in case another reader in the house might like it better than me. I probably should take a more critical look at my shelves some time in the near future, but I just find comfort in being surrounded by books. Best of luck with all of the moving nonsense Gavin! This next month is going to be a crazy blur, but it will all be worth it with your boys in your new place. Thanks for taking us all along for the ride.

The Bone Witch trilogy is really the only one you unhauled that was mildly painful for me. I loved them so much when I read them from the library, I bought the physical copies to keep. The rest of your unhaul was soooo cathartic to watch lol

Bravo! You have become a ruthless unhauler and I love it! When I moved into my current house I got rid of almost 600 books. I sold as many as I could in a one-afternoon garage sale and then donated the rest to a school. My goal was not to have to carry a ton of book boxes. 😂My criteria was only keeping physical copies of my 5 star favorites. If a book had sat forever as a TBR and I could just get from the library or as an ebook, it was gone (and few of them ended up as favorites after all.) The hardest were gifted books but I took pictures of the dedication pages. I have to admit, I love having two small shelves of only books I absolutely adore. Getting rid of an aesthetically beautiful book is extra hard (thanks booktok!) but think of the amazing energy of only being surrounded by your absolute favorites!
