Roenuel Sendaydiego it’s more of muscular endurance, because of a reels drag system it would give in at a set amount, for example let’s say a reel with 30lbs of drag will start letting line out at 30lbs (depends on rods pressure, it may be more)

This was honestly one of my favorite shows growing up. Never really had any interest in fishing before but this man did it all! And the show was very captivating, quite sad the show ended.

I think the Goonch is my favorite catch of his. The thought that they can be bigger, and living in rivers like that is pretty cool to me. You'd never know it in those muddy waters either. Awesome!

Watching River Monsters, Jeremy was catching fish I never knew existed, like the Goliath Tiger Fish, Red tailed catfish, Conger Eel, and a few others. Great tv show.

fish dont feel pain anyway scientists have proven that so all the people your talking about need to realise that before they get butt hurt about it. I dont agree with people hunting Elephants and lions and things like that as i think its sick but when it comes to fishing i think that's ok. Ive only just got into fishing over the last 3 months and i really enjoy it i never thought i would and if i thought i was hurting the fish in anyway i wouldnt do it and i never keep the fish i always put it back unharmed.

People gotta stop with this "scientist found" nonsense. Your statement has long been disproved. If you apply stinging venom extract to the mouths of fish they display sighs of distraught. Recoiling, raise heart rate, increased stressed cortisol levels. Hallmarks of pain similar to any other other species. This stuff is easily testable. The problem is running the same experiment on something like a Jellyfish with no analogous structures to mammals. What fish probably don't feel is impending horror of knowing whats going to happen next. Its painful in the moment and they try to get away from it.

down range Im sorry but there's no way to prove that. Another species testing humans for the ability to feel pain would have to go off our reaction to damage as well, you can never actually know what they feel. And everything about a fish's reaction suggests pain like we know it. Humans with nerve damage dont even flinch to being cut. I'm not an activist, I'm perfectly ok with fishing but this wild speculation came out of nowhere and stayed for some reason. I just happen to be "a scientist" and I cant stand people attributing bs findings to us.

XI Objectify: I was surprised they brought it out of the water it’s extremely bad for the fish because sometimes it will burst the fish’s bladder. They say not to bring them out of water unless there under 50 pounds and that was obviously over that.

Are most of these giant fish caught species that are known to get that big or just monster behemoth rarities? It’s amazing how big of fish Jeremy is able to catch consistently. Is it just a matter of bait and location or are these catches super rare to do but Jeremy is just an amazing fisherman?

It’s not rare fish, fish have the ability to grow as big as they need to be if their environment allows it too, and also how many years the water has been untouched by humans. So depends on the waters he fishes in.

4-5 metre long catfish were commonplace in the Dniepr river in the 19th century but thanks to overfishing today catfish are lucky to get to 3m

The grouper is a very large fish but have been caught bigger, its very similar to the goliath grouper which is not uncommon to be caught at 500lb+. The bull shark is an uncommon size but not unheard of, ive seen videos of fish up to 600/650. I dont know much about the goonch but the catfish is fairly average size. The record for the river ebro in spain is 245lb. Species like that will grow so big if they have no natural predators,

My favorite fish was the goonch catfish. What an impressive predator! The tigerfish was also a good catch!

That specific shark is a live bearer. It has live babies and not eggs. And mammals are classified as having milk glands and fur I'm pretty sure?
