Today we're at Uncle Moe's in Calgary, AB with a bit of an audience no less...the obstacle that lies before us is the legendary 'Donairosaurus Rex' challenge...
Diners get 40 minutes in which to finish a huge donair, topped with veggies and a sauce of your choice. If you can get it down, it's on the house. If not it's $50! This thing has been around well over a decade and has been completed a fair few times, but today we're gonna have a crack at the all-time record, since a few subscribers came to watch...

Evening all! Thanks for joining me for another episode… Tonight we’re going toe to toe with a distinct Canadian delicacy called a donair (which as far as I can tell is just a doner kebab) but not just any donair…oh no…a donair challenge that’s been around over a decade and is so big they call it The Donairosaurus Rex! I hope you enjoy it and I’ll see you again sooner than you think 😘 *Also, just by way of explanation to the newer subscribers, I noticed a few people in the comments section on the last video seemed confused and/or upset about the distance between the filming date and release date of new videos on the channel. To clarify, all my videos are shot a good two to three months before the date they’re actually published. I do this for a number of important reasons, but mostly so that if say I’m hit by a car tomorrow, or more likely Mrs Beard beats me unconscious with a stale garlic baguette, then the audience I value so much has stuff to watch for a good quarter year while I recover. I hope that makes some sense. Lots of love, you’re old chum BMF ❤️

Here in Sherbrooke Quebec donairs are not a thing.... We're in the land of poutine 'round here!! There's this english pub in the anglo part of town right next to Bishop's University in the Lennoxville borough. For a time, one of the students at uni was a guy from Halifax who worked in the kitchen at the pub... As soon as he started working there, donairs were added to the menu and he really killed it!! For the few years he was there we got real deal donairs and the sweet sauce is what really ties it together!!! Nothing else around here gets close to what we had then!!!

As soon as I hear the quickest time it’s been done on any beard challenge I’m always hoping he not only does the challenge but smashes the time record, also that made me so hungry that kebab looked awesome.

The Canadian Donair was invented in Halifax NS and tastes very different from a doner kebab popular in much of the world. It's a very different thing that is typically a spiced beef meat with tomatoes, onion, occasionally cheese, and donair sauce on top. (evaporated milk, sugar and spices). It's a popular late night snack here on the east coast. No, it doesn't taste anything like a typical doner kebab, although it has similarities and was based off of them. PS, Beard I still want to see you try out A&W. IMO the best fast food place and amazing onion rings for a fast food joint.

We had a Döner shop here in Germany in a small town close to me that sold Dürüm just a bit smaller than that but that was the only size they sold. Two people would always eat one and even then it was too much sometimes. It was dirt cheap too, unfortunately they went out of business a few years ago.
