The reason most players play so bad online because the PURPOSELY made Mycareer so boring and tedious that people would play online to spend that money. People used to play My career games and learn the game mechanics and still have some fun...now its hard to finish one game because the CPU cheats so much and the Ai plays so bad. Your teamates are HORRIBLE and sabotage the game while the other CPU team make 70% smothered shots constantly.. so people go online immediately and don't know anything but spam moves and barely put defense on their builds because they want to score..

@@DisasterLonely Nah the ai honestly cheat sometimes I've played multiple careers with multiple builds and their defense is sometime near impeccable predicting moves the moment I input it or making outrageous shots consistently while my team purposely brings their players towards me for me to get doubled it's crazy

@ivboneheadvi it really all depends on the build. I find them easy but maybe because my builds have a high shooting and strength

@@DisasterLonelyNaw they cheat cause you can have a wide open lane after breaking them and the computer will glue to you and stick to you once you shoot. That and you're bogged down in mud of they're close to you. Ofc if you know what dribbles to abuse or got you a kd left side fade the cpu is magically easy. It's poorly designed.
@Nard313
@Nard313 23 күн бұрын
@@DisasterLonelyI agree. AI easy. They double me as soon as I touch the ball and my cpu teammates knockdown open shots on HOF. I rarely finish a career without a triple double.

My friends don't touch MyCareer nor do they even practice their shots/dribbles in any setting. They just buy every 2K and play Rec all year. I imagine a lot of people do this, but it somewhat explains why they aren't consistent. I never hop into an online setting without knowing what my player can do
@KevinCruz016

I think a lot of people 100 percent do this and therefore they think its the same game every year! So they dont know new mechanics, systems, or improvements because they just jump in blind in a mode where people do the same thing

@@KevinCruz016 - Yep. I check 2KU every year because it tells you how to do everything. Last year, eurosteps with the RS required you to do a Left-Right or Right-Left movement. You can still do it like that this year if you want, but 2KU in 24 tells you to hold Down-Left or Down-Right without turbo. Little differences like that change quite often.

Hey Kev, another insightful vid my guy. What i’ve been struggling with lately as a random rec pg is passing too often & finding myself not knowing when to create. I’m a good scorer but I don’t want to seem like a ball hog which leads to me deferring to my teammates. Many times i’ll have 0 points at the half but 10+ assist & knowing i can contribute way more. What are some tips on knowing when it’s a good time to pass versus get to your spots ? Especially when it comes to playing with randoms.

The main thing is to take what the defense gives you, if you see an opening don’t be afraid to take it. If you pass up too many open looks and opportunities to create you may hold the team back. It’s definitely a tough balance man. What I would say is that you try and establish that you’re a point guard that makes the right plays and not just hunting for stats that means making the open pass whether it leads to assists or not. People will know if you’re being too much of a ball hog, but they won’t fault you for being aggressive if the situation calls for it. Try opening up your game more and see what balance feels like. But also every rec game is different because there will be times where toxic players also just ruin it regardless

I will say tho that the reason why people will be too aggressive on defense is because online the game is really slow and unresponsive and with the game favouring speed boosting attackers u have to aggressively predict very early what the attacker is going to do and even then can still be punished for guessing correctly because the attacker can quickly boost away from you making it impossible to keep up on defense; pretty unbalanced in my opinion.
@KevinCruz016
@KevinCruz016 18 күн бұрын
I think this is fair, and the really good guys know how to be smart in their aggression. I’m more speaking to the crowd that does it blindly without the proper principles. Those types of defenders would be better served being positionally disciplined. But your points are valid! And something that I hope the game continues to improve on.
@itsunity23
@itsunity23 18 күн бұрын
@@KevinCruz016 oh yeah I fully agree most people don’t think about their defensive positioning and overcommit when they should be more measured it’s just frustrating that the game is really unresponsive to the inputs about how ur trying to position ur player, it makes it feel more like u have to guess and hope ur in the way instead of being rewarded for good reading of the game.

What position do you play? And what is your playstyle? If you’re a small guard, the chef curry system is built is pretty effective against fat locks. Just don’t over dribble. If you’re not a great dribbler (and I won’t risk it unless they lose their adrenaline bars from poking too much), generate an advantage using screens if you can’t get your triple threat or iso game going. Use strong moves to get them off balance, like the john wall hop back or jamaal murray if you want to keep things simple. But generate space with escape dribbles to get them to react and attack from there.
