I work commercial insurance and deal primarily with general liability cases. So many of the lawsuits mentioned here are without merit. People forget, if you're going to sue someone and you expect them to pay YOU, it's YOUR job to prove your case and why you're right. That's difficult for an individual to do against a company. Living in a litigious society has given me job security and a hell of an archive of great and outlandish stories. Never a dull day.

Sitting outside a Starbucks yesterday (my mom needed to pee), I listened to the orders at the drive through... it told me everything I needed to know about this company and the people who go there... they are stupid and spend way too much money for a drink. Some person ordered 3 drinks and a cookie for a grand total of $24.00... why?

I agree with the underfilling, when I was working there a lot of the guys I worked with did that and even nowadays when I buy from Starbucks coffee they underfill it and leave a lot of space empty. It's not a bit deal if you can afford and don't really care about how much money you spend. But it's an issue for people like me that only have a damn Starbucks around when leaving to uni and no time to make coffee at home.

As a Starbucks employee I can say for certain that we’re not trying to underfill your latte, it’s literally impossible for the milk to stay at the top unless you get a No Foam Latte, the foam over time settles and lowers from the top.

Just get yourself a nice little espresso machine for under a hundred bucks make your own espressos and lattes why would you pay five to seven dollars for someone else to make it for you I could see once in a while if you're running late and you need a coffee but other than that a day-to-day basis you should be making coffee at home unless you like throwing money away cuz if you took that $5 that you spend on coffee every day and put it in a bank you have a nice sum of money at the end of the year ☕

I’m a barista for Starbucks. I’m not sure about other Starbucks. But in my district (stores in my region) here in Los Angeles, I’ve always been taught to follow whatever size the guests wants when using our pitcher. The stores that I’ve covered in my district as well as my manager especially are very big in making sure that we follow the line in the pitcher when steaming the milk. Because if you follow the correct pitcher line, it will give you the correct amount of milk when you pour it in the drink. It should be hitting the top perfectly. And as the for the lady complaining because of the ice. We have the “light ice” version. Smh

Having previously worked at Starbucks, I can confirm that most customers are not as smart as they think they are. Most of these controversies are dumb because of dumb people. People looking for reasons to direct their outrage from area to another.

I work at Starbucks, the Latte underfilling practice isn't true at all. If you order a Cap or Latte (especially a cap) Then your drink will have foam, and as you know foam disappears and will over a couple of mins start to disappear from the drink. (just like when you pour yourself a coke to the top, and then the foam all disappears and the glass is half empty). If you want a full cup, simply ask your Barista for no foam, or drink your latte/cap quickly before the foam dissipates. The too much ice thing is also not true, that is simply the practice that we follow in order to fill the standards to make the drink nice & cold for the customer. We recommend to customers if they want more beverage too simply ask for light ice, or if they normally order a Grande size, I would recommend to them to ask for a Grande in a Venti for example (to make room for both the ice and the beverage) Sometimes I have customers order iced coffee with no ice and no room, and just order a venti cup of ice on the side (which is free, and does not cost extra)

Omg no I work at starbucks and our stores waste SO MUCH MILK FROM OVER FILLING every day. Unless you say no foam, no one is going to skimp you. Thats not where the baristas head is in a rush. They prioritize overfilling over under-filling because it is faster. But yeah, the iced drinks are half ice lol

I can very much agree on over filling with ice and not enough drink product . To by pass problem ; I ask with no ice or separate cup for the ice .

A friend of mine when we go to a Mexican place out here she orders a margarita with no ice, and a separate cup of ice so you get more margarita. I wonder if you could do the same hack at Starbucks (or any place for that matter)?

I always order the mango dragonfruit refresher. If I order a small cup, it has no ice. If I order the large, it has the same amount of liquid and a bunch of ice. That’s why I just ask for no ice, it’s simple.

im a starbucks barista and the whole not filling the cups enough just doesn't make sense. Everything is critically measured in Starbucks to ensure that there is enough (and sometimes more than enough) to go into your cup. Milk for lattes are measured as well depending on which size and everything goes in until it fills up the cup. If it does so happen that it doesn't fill to the top, it's often due to a barista's carelessness for assuming the wrong size, hence not steaming enough milk. Same goes for ice, each size has it's dedicated ice scoop and even then, we have a specific line on the cup to follow and gauge until where the drink should be and where the ice goes. Besides, it is free to request for less/more and even no ice if it's really that big of a deal to you (hell, we even get requests as weird as "i want just 4 ice cubes - just 4").
