Finding that big tooth shows how the universe works,your kindness and concern for the osprey and the sacrifice you made to try to get her to veterinary attention changed your life path that day,and onto the tooth you would most propably have not found if you went into another direction..Well done and thank you

Lol if that was how the world worked things would be a lot different. But sadly no. You can be a good person to everyone your whole life and still get Covid and die lol. Or accidentally hit someone with your car. One doesn’t equal the other and I think fake hope and positivity is way more harmful than anything else

Never easy when an animal dies despite rescue - I’ve lost a couple of young birds before delivery to native wildlife rescue. Thank you for trying. ❤️ And as always, thank you for taking us along on your fossil hunts!

Thank YOU, as well. As a kid, my mom rescued a large owl from a barbed wire fence; we delivered it to our veterinarian. Sadly, it had become impaled and had to be euthanized. It's not always a dire situation, though, sometimes they just need some food and rest, maybe a little treatment and they are good to go again.

Hey, I've done a lot to help animals out of the blue one day because they needed it and its awesome you tried. I know how hard it is when things don't go well but... its really cool you stopped to do that. So screw people who don't get it. I was impressed by everything, great video!

I'm a bit late finding this video and posting this, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for trying to save the osprey and for letting people know that they can help, because most don't. I'm an animal rescuer and rehabilitator, myself. I mostly rescue cats and sometimes dogs, but have rescued other animals, including turtles, birds, and raccoons. My niece and I are looking for property and applying for grants to buy some farmland and open an animal sanctuary. There are never enough people out there helping and not enough space to save more than a minority of animals that need our help. If you are reading this, please volunteer and donate $ or supplies. We need all the help we can get. Thanks!

Had to look up how much a megalodon tooth sells for and a 4" tooth is about $100 - 5" tooth can go for $250 - and a 6"+ tooth goes for thousands. Can also vary by how nice the shape still is and color it retained.

An epic journey with some amazing fossils! Dude you so deserved that finish. To bad that the osprey didn't make it but you're a good soul for trying. Hope you get to go back and dive that quarry equipment, just be extremely careful and if possible dont go alone. I don't want my favorite hunter becoming a future fossil. Happy Hunting!

So neat you were literally in my back yard. The Castle Hayne Quarry in about 4 miles from my house. My home shakes when they blast. I wish they would open for hunts at least every now and then. I’ve heard of some neat finds years ago. You were definitely in mosquito heaven. Thank you for trying so hard to rescue the bird. I would have done the same thing. It’s so sad that people don’t take the time to think of others much less other creatures anymore. We should all think about others (including animals) as we would want to be treated. It’s that easy. I wish you well. Thank you for taking us on your wonderful adventures.

You definitely got my sub after trying to save that Osprey. I can't count how many times I've seen KZfaq videos where people film an injured/sick animal, call attention to it, and then go om about their day leaving it to suffer. Not because they are bad people necessarily, but because they think...? helping = nursing it back to health themselves. In reality helping is either alerting a rescue to its location, or driving it to a rescue. You can always find a rescue that'll help. I think a lot more people would help if they were aware. Thank you for putting the word out there.

What an EPIC haul Jonathan!! I was already impressed with that big shell near the beginning. Then you hit the jackpot of locations for a massive Meg and so much more! Btw, I have been curious how the school year is starting out for Kat. I am considering going back to substitute teaching part-time now that I am fully vaccinated.

Osprey looked like it was pushing a dozen years. He was trying to die in his sleep on the river. I really enjoyed this video. The NOs always suck, while persistence pays off. Incredible teef and verts and leaverites haha
