tbh they shoud take the adventures we already had and adapt them into tall tales to fill the gap for the players that missed out that chunk of the story

As a solo slooper, the Burning Blade is a dream come true

I took a break and now we’re getting a double barrel, wind generator, skeleton summons, a GRAPPLE HOOK?! and a whole new ship??!? Looks like I have to get back into the game

You know... with the Burning Blade being the first Man O'War, I can't imagine the Pirate Lord sitting idle while this happens. Maybe the good guy counterpart... the Athena's Fortune? Same mechanics, but spectral instead of skeleton?

...and by "here" we mean "in 9 to 12 months"

I really hope we get a ghost version of the Athena’s fortune to counter this. How cool would it be watching two massive vessels fighting with smaller galleons and brigantines skirmishing around the edges

I can't wait for Season 13.. whenever I get the burning blade, I will bow down to our true pirate lord.. Lord Flame heart. That is going to be really exciting to be able to really feel like part of Flamehearts crew.

Dude that ship is literally the Queen Annes Revenge from Pirates 4 lmao. From the AI crew and the fire shooting out from the front of the ship this is fantastic.

The "Man O' War" isn't a ship. It's a term, a concept used to describe a sailing ship with cannons. You could say every ship in Sea of Thieves is a "Man O' war".

I really hope this world event is also available in safer seas mainly just so i can solo sloop with an NPC crew and take my time leisurely sailing around.

Absolutely love it, I was just saying last year that the game needed a big "raid" ship that you could take control of and defend for loot. I thought maybe it would be the evil trading company but this is a cool implementation of it too.

I think the coolest thing they are starting to lean into a bit more, is loot with function. We have the Mermaid Staffs, Ashen Wind Skulls, Skull of Siren song, even things like Firework Crates and Collector Chests. The Burning Blade Cutlass, and the Horn of Fair Winds are the continuation of this idea, and I hope it explodes this idea even further. I was upset thinking about the Grapped Gun being added, making bording easy for anyone, but then I realised, if you had to earn that gun per each session, that would balance it out a bit more. There is so much potential for this game

I predicted this happening a few years ago. About when the mermaid shrines were just added. I told my friends that they should add something like Davy Jones' ship sailing around and players can take control of it and become the world event. And your ship will sink. At the end your crew gets the loot if you don't sink. What I said was shown in the video. I started playing Sea of Thieves since launch and still love the game. I want to play it a lot more then I do now (I rarely play it now) but I don't have a constant crew that I can play with for like 5-10 hours straight on a weekend or day off.. I love Sea of Thieves and am glad to see this game come this far... I don't make content, but I've seen funny moments, done janky things, seen glitches and even met the devs of the game once. I hope this game keeps doing so well and even becomes even better...

I refuse to give this exalted title to any ship that has not at least 10 cannons pointing at each side, from which at least 5 are used by AI crew the entire time and the rest is for the player to use. 😈 No mercy and all in on the overkill! Now we only need an Athena-version with Ghostpirates for this. 👏😎

I think adding skins that actually alter the ships would be cool because we have variety in ships with 3 different ships and an almost infinit amount of cosmetic combinations, but having some small changes in ships for example the black pearl livery actually adding the black pearl would be way cooler I think.

I know, that Lagoon of Whispers will be a Skelly Camp because on the Island is a Reaper Parrot. And the Orb says about it.

Well, not to come off ungrateful. Buuuuuut I think most people would just like to spawn in a man o war and have a bigger crew to play with. Step in the right direction but just give us the ship type so we can enjoy it all the time and have more players in our crew.

Once this comes out cliff is going to have some real fun with this update

I really hope they get the in game closer to the art yes I see it’s in progress but it would be so sick if it left a trail of orange goop leaking out and looked more aggressive like the art more alive can’t wait to see it in action regardless!

hopefully one day they add an actual customizable man o' war for a 6-player crew. This one's cool...but I want MY man o' war.

It will be fun to defeat the ship while it's crew are trying to get tribute. Beat it, sink it, and scamper off with the sword before the get back from the vault. It will also be funny to see how much it gets left to rot while people work on whatever the flavor of the day event is.

This sounds like an amazing update.

Definitely exciting! I do wonder about some of the mechanics though. For instance, what happens to your captained ship once you pledge to be the crew of the BB? Does it scuttle until you "turn in" the BB? Can more than one crew (maybe in an alliance) choose to serve on the BB together? Do the two extra cannons (the ones on the poop deck) have more down angle to make them valuable? Is there a brand new special BB shanty we can play when we're on board, because I'm always wanting more shanties. Great stuff, great video, keep 'em coming!

I was looking for a sunken ship for a tall tale as a solo schooner when this ship sailed up to me. I swear it stopped and looked at me for like 3 mins, then turned around and sailed away...XD I guess he showed me pity mercy

It's not even close anymore. This is the greatest pirate video game ever made.

I take a few year break (played regularly til a few months after first tall tale then hopped on once to start Jack Sparrow story) and it seems everything changed. And I have to chuckle that a man of war is finally coming when players have been asked for one since day 1. And that was to have something bigger than a galleon to have 5 or even 6 player crews.

With the Man-O-War being a thing in the form of the Burning Blade, I honestly hope we can get an Athena version to counter it someday. Maybe the shipwreck in the Athena's Fortune hideout can be modified into a Man-O-War version of the Athena's Fortune ship that the trading company and hideout are both named after. Cause Ramsey and the rest of the Sea of Thieves cast against Flameheart are gonna need something just as big to stop him now.

I've been going around sea of theives telling people I ally with that this would be such a great idea ever since the gally came out (from the ship being a man of war with 10 cannons to having an air crew) feel like they listening or I said it to a partner of theirs

Imagine you could take a "quest" to defeat the burning blade where you have to find some Mcguffin with wich you can summon the flying dutchman and take over the ship. that would be epic

I always find myself a.d.ding away from SoT but then they drop previews like this and it just sucks me back in

Ik it’s WIP but they really have to make the cannons shoot all the way down or lower their position or the ship height. Even a galleon is like half its size and cannons are horrid to shoot downwards with so this problem would make the entire ships broadside have a blind spot where enemies can board.

I still want more ship customization. Like adding an enclosed cabin to the sloop, raising the helm on a brigantine, lowering the helm on the galleon, new sail types, more realistic sail rigging options, etc.

I hope they fix the burning blade cutlass. I know they probably went for a pixealted look on purpose, but it should at least be somewhat 3d 🤓
