Shop Hop Episode 2 - The LongFin
In this video, I feature The Longfin, which is one of the biggest family-owned fishing Tackle Shops around. I also ask for bait recommendations and a place to fish. I then purchase the baits, go to the place they recommended and try to catch fish with what I got from the shop.
I was helped by Frank who is very knowledgeable in both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Plus he has been working at this tackle shop for over 30 years. He immediately suggested that I use reaction baits - such as topwater and jerkbait lures - and then to also go to Irvine Lake to catch largemouth bass.
With only one rod and reel combo and a hand full of lures, I had to work real hard to catch something.

It’s rad that we can go chase largies in the morning and catch saltwater bass in the afternoon. We do have a special fishery

@@teefishes what I meant is how much people you see vs me having entire lakes to myself. Not needing to ask for permission to fish nearby or anything. Also having to pay to be able to fish lol everywhere is free around here in northern Cali. Total night and day difference. I use to live in so cal and it doesn't compare remotely to the fisheries we have. Shasta lake for example I catch salmon trout panfish and bass all within a day in the same lake. Just yesterday alone I caught 45 fish in 2 hours lol. Crappie, smallmouth, spotted bass, largemouth.

@@freshandsaltyjohnny I’ll be moving up north or to Texas next year just because I want access to new and more water. It used to be good but there isn’t enough freshwater to accommodate the increase in fishing popularity.

Great store however check your receipts before leaving!!! Last year my buddy and I had to get several conventional reels spooled up as a last resort. I was charged $25 more than him with the exact same line on the exact same reel!!! Lesson learned!!

I was hoping for more coverage of the tackle store. I wanted to see the Shimano display and the grundens display. I guess I’ll have to drive up there. Hit up Squidco or fisherman’s tackle shop in San Diego
