@@alaya6146 Maybe. But since I have known this, I have never seen any difference except for the one the Akans in Cote d'ivoire wear. When I did my traditional, the kente I wore was bought in Togo and it doesn't look different. It kind of looking similar of what she wore as second dress but mine was blue, navy blue and white and for my dowry, I have received kentes and one of it was the black color but same design of their 1st kente attire they wore. All was bought in the kente market in Togo. I wish I can put pictures here

I was thinking the same thing. Unless they are even Ewes but then their Kente is different from the Akan Kente. And the Adinkra symbols are Ghanaian soooo..

Well since the title was Togolese wedding we were expecting Togolese traditional wear not Ghanaian. I have not seen many Togolese weddings so I wanted to see what their traditional weddings looked like.

Togo and Ghana have many ethnic groups who are the same. Like the Akan, the ewes, the tembas etc..

Why do Ashantis think Kente is for them. I was thought growing up that Ewes wear Kente. Our is woven differently with shinning yarns and patterns. I also have Togolese family members. Its very similar. There is soo much of other tribes culture that were not properly explained in our text books so its mostly Akans in detail. Thats y u are having such confusion. I havr to learn about the Ewe tribe in detail from Benin and Togolese documentaries. But in our text books they only say Anlos came from Notse and hogbestosto. We are kente weavers too.

@@heartsandpearls239 I think they are wear Akan Kente because the togolese is a little different. The patterns and yarns are different...We tend to have gold in our yarn. Our kente and the Benin one are like the same.
