Terbayang ketika Nabi Nuh bikin perahu di gunung! Bikin papan dll nya itu butuh waktu yang sangat lama. Sementara teknologi nya masih sangat tradisional. Namun akhirnya jadi juga perahu Nabi Nuh.

When I was young, back in the 60’s and 70’s, it was common to see big diameter trees coming out of the woods on the back of logging trucks. One log per truck, and it was an over wide load. Not so much anymore. Except in preserves and parks, they are pretty much all gone now. Those big trees were mostly Douglas Fir and Western Cedar. The straight tight grain in those trees was beautiful and in the case of the Douglas fir, very strong. The young 2nd growth trees now being harvested don’t have the tight grain nor the strength of the original wood because they are grown faster, resulting in a softer less rot resistant wood. They don’t hold up as well as the old growth trees did. The specialized mills with their equipment to handle those huge trees are now mostly gone now. What equipment that remains is either sitting in museums or in equipment graveyards. Those machines are not sized to handle the smaller trees now being logged and processed.

Why does this bandsaw new water on the blade? Other sawmills cut their timber without applying water, so does that indicate that the blade needs sharpening and is struggling to cut?
@mylynne1953
@mylynne1953 2 жыл бұрын
If the mill is using a band saw it has to be cooled. Modern mills have a water system spraying the blade on the exit side. A hot blade is begging to break.
@Kevin_Sausage
@Kevin_Sausage Жыл бұрын
Circle mills need watering depending on what kind of wood is being sawn. White oak and hickory will heat them up and make the saw start dishing in and out. Ivory liquid and water mixed works good.
