The birth of Guilford (and later Pan Am): Mellen's Railroad!

3 жыл бұрынI was working as a video editor at NBC News in Boston when my producer came in with a story he called "Mellen's Railroad". Being new to the area I had scant knowledge of the three railroads that Mr. Mellen had just purchased, renaming the conglomerate "Guilford Transportation Industries". It's become a fascinating look back at the genesis of what is now Pan Am. This story originally appeared on NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. No copyright infringement is intended.

1983, IIRC.

@@mikechapmanmedia2291 Guilford was formed in 1981, but the purchase of the B&M wasn't completed until 1983 so you're most likely correct.
