What a great story. Well told. The fact that Steve-O has so much childhood/teenage footage of himself is amazing. He has proof of nearly EVERY story he tells.

unfortunately what usually happens to people that mistreat their bodies like that is they seem fine for a long time then all of a sudden they go downhill fast. They completely fall apart and pass away within a matter of weeks. Hopefully it doesn't happen to Steve for a long time.

I heard about this when I was a young kid from my older cousins. I was skater and got really obsessed but didn’t even watch a episode. So one night I sneaked downstairs as my parents were sleeping and clicked on MTV and watched my first episode. My dad heard me and came downstairs to shout at me as it was late. He got very distracted with what I was watching and we both sat on the couch laughing our heads off. We laughed together so loud we woke the whole house up. Before you know it my sisters and mom was downstairs. My mom didn’t approve of it but definitely did giggle every now then. Good memories. It’s like my parents actually started to understand me. I was also very hyper active and a bit of a outcast. I was into punk music and skate boarding and it was the first time I felt like my parents supported my hobbies and interest and always took me to skate parks and so I can hang out with my friends.

I grew up close to where Bam lived and I remember my junior year of high school there was a VHS tape being passed around our local skatepark of kids doing dumb shit, things we all did but couldn't afford a camcorder to record it. We would watch it for days laughing our ass off then pass it along to someone else at the park. Come to find out a few years later it was an original cut of Bams footage which later turned into the 3 part CKY series. It was crazy to see what the original was like vs what they cut out so they could sell it in stores. Many years later when I was stationed in Maryland I met Steve-O at the DC Improv show for his first tour, took one of the most awkward pictures of my life and got my book signed. I could only imagine where that tape ended up, did some pissed off mom throw it away, was it watched until the tape inside couldn't be played anymore, or is it sitting in a box in a garage somewhere?

Even though I wasn’t the target audience, Jackass was absolutely huge for my childhood. Jackass made me a fan of skateboarding (even though I’ve never been able to skateboard whatsoever lol). That led me to Tony Hawk and all his amazing video games, which led me to some amazing music I never would’ve discovered otherwise. Jackass introduced me to so much stuff that would become a staple of my childhood. I’m 25 now and I look back at it with fondness. Thank you, Steve-O and to all the Jackass guys for making my childhood so great! I love you guys! P.S, I’m from Knoxville just like Johnny. Johnny is a hero around my hometown and his dad actually owns a deli type of store that has all kinds of pictures of Johnny in it. His dad is an absolute sweetheart and I’ve met him dozens of times over my life!)

@doomslayer3373 2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad someone else sees this perspective of it. I actually think Bam and the cky crew deserve more credit than what is explained in this video, I mean yes Jackass was born from putting together big brother videos and cky videos, but the cky crew already had multiple movies of their own before there was any talk of jackass, and jackass basically took that idea and claimed it as their own and now because of Bams mental state and being unable to be in the lastest (and worst) movie, seems like they are going out their way to make sure Bam now gets as little credit as possible. Also and interesting way for the Jackass crew to show their support for their fellow crew member, don't get me wrong I love Steveo and the entire Jackass crew but how they have treated Bam is very wrong in my eyes

Also, while I'm having a rant from team Bam, in Jackass forever and 4.5 I thought messing with Jasper's dad Dark shark with the spider and the skydiving was hilarious, but I wonder where they got the idea to mess with someone's parents 🤔🤔🤔 could it be from one of the most publicly known pranks by Jackass that even people who aren't fans of it know of and give sympathy to Phil and April. End rant 😂

My god, i just can't begin to describe how important Big Brother magazine was to me back in those early days. Whenever i would get a new copy i'd be so excited that it felt like Christmas each time. I suddenly became super interested in reading, writing, telling stories, photography... etc One day my Mum flicked through one of my magazines and she was so horrified that she threw it out and said i couldn't buy them anymore. But that didn't stop me. I started hiding them in the roof of our house and it felt like i had an important project to maintain. It goes to show that there should always be freedom of expression as those shocking magazines inspired my creative side in the long run.

Bam was sponsored by element he was a top skater for them at one point in time so yeah, I understand why they feel bam wasn’t able to be in the movie but it’s kind of hypocritical when all them were on shit the other movies they kind of sitting on their high horse now to bam. This dude lost Ryan Dunn who was amazing and he’s never gonna get over that loss it was like he lost a brother. I see both sides of it but bam was cut loose kind of 11th hour it seemed mean to me honestly. Anyway hope bam can do something with them in the future steve-O cares about him very much that’s evident.

Let's not all forget CKY had half the footage for the pilot for Jackass. Jeff T took Bams videos from CKY and used them for the show. No CKY, NO JACKASS, in my opinion though. Bam was the highest paid (about 15 million per movie)that's why they let him go so easily. But they can support Xanax and alchohol on some of the other movies 🤭🤭
