The Birthday Haircut - (Shaving my head)

The desire to shave my head began when I was 15 years old. Fast forward to 15 years later... I realized I've run out of excuses not to so, on my 30th birthday that's exactly what I did.
.....Throughout this experience I've learned to embrace myself as an open canvas and fear of the opinions of others no longer crosses my mind....it's only hair. Thanks for watching!!#hatelesslivelonger

Way to go! you decided to change with no regrets Im glad you did it. Ive been a stylist now 22 years and you look alot better and younger short. a Faux hawk works well on you. Enjoy it flaunt it make people stare at you. all the best Ginnie

Wow, you look really cool with the buzzed hair! Hope you like this style, I was thinking about doing the same XD Are you planning to shave completely in the future? I think that you'll rock! :D

Dragorosso95 Thank you! It's the best cut for summer months (wear sunscreen), but also reeeeally cold without a toboggan during winter lol. You could totally do it!! It's only hair :) Plus, it grows back! I'm getting ready to donate the 8 inches I've managed to grow over the past 2yrs. Then, I will shave it all (video post) and start over (crown only) to donate again. Thanks for watching!!

You look awesome, you got the face and the head for it, is it fully shaved yet? I can only imagine how good you'd look with a smooth shave :)

Thank you! I plan to completely shave it soon, very soon... I've just now hit the one year mark since completely shaving it last October ('13)... That's when I began the process of only growing the top. Pure curiosity, I wanted to see what a year of growth would get me, which is now proven to be a measly 6" heh. A complete shave is definitely in my very near future :)

chacha2800 Do you want to keep it short or shaved for good or to grow it back medium-length or long again? Hair grows 1/2"/month generally.

Definitely keeping it shaved. In the next month or so I will donate the 8 inches grown over the past (nearly) two years, as it's FINALLY long enough to donate. Here in Texas the summers are often brutal and no hair (+ SPF15) is key to staying cool. I will start growing it again (crown only) for donation again in the fall.

what number guard is that being used ? and weren't you super nervous ?

#4 guard. Currently tho I use a #2 and do it myself. I wasn’t necessarily nervous, but maybe a little apprehensive. Even still that wasn’t going to stop me; I’d wanted this for far too long to be nervous. Thanks for watching!!

Mostly. I guess you could say I have the 'undercut' hairstyle?? Shaved, but there is some length on top. I don't see myself growing it back anytime soon.
