【Tamagawa Onsen】
Tamagawa Onsen is a hot spring located in Senboku City, Akita Prefecture.
Tamagawa Onsen is Japan's most highly acidic hot spring (pH 1.05) with hydrochloric acid as its main ingredient, and bathing in it makes the body tingle.
The hot spring dormitory has a self-catering section with a fully equipped kitchen and store. Available. In addition, there is a spacious public bath and an indoor bedrock bath, providing a well-equipped environment for a "TO-JI" (hot-spring cure).
Near the lodgings, there is a nature study trail, which leads to the "Oobuke" (large spout).
The Oobuke gushes out 9,000 liters per minute, the largest single gush in Japan. Watching the hot spring gush out from the Oobukara, one can feel the energy of the earth's magma. Careful selection of the gushes from the large spouts forms a river that flows directly into the large baths at the lodgings.
In the area of the nature trail, there is a mineral called "Hokutoseki," which emits radium and other radioactive substances, and is found only in Tamagawa Onsen in Japan. In order to be exposed to the natural radiation emitted from Hokutoseki, many people pull up their mats and take a bedrock bath. The bedrock bath huts have also been built, and the area is famous as the birthplace of "Ganbanyoku" (hot stoned bath).
With the most highly acidic spring in Japan and natural radiation bedrock baths, it is no exaggeration to say that Tamagawa Onsen is the best hot-spring cure in Japan. This is the reason why many cancer patients visit Tamagawa Onsen for a TO-JI.
