he needs to keep his foot dry. using something like puracol collagen dressing (needs fresh tissue to really work - as in removing tissue to get to fresh so there will be blood), and iodosorb works really goods as an antiseptic and helps keep it dry (it seeps iodine as it absorbs moisture) - he really should be seeing a wound care specialist to do the tissue bit and make sure his diabetes is controlled - you dont heal if your too sweet
