Debuting a group with members who are 'ugly' to point that you can be successful without visuals but talent, only to be forced to become pretty to make a comeback really proves the point that we DO care about visuals. This is a great idea for a series! My vote would be for PIXY, who has a small but very tight fanbase. They have had a lot of challenges finding an audience, but people who find them often are baffled by their overall quality and small viewership. I had the pleasure to see them at their US debut, and they were really wonderful.

Using an OEC clip when you say "the importantance of extensive worldbuilding" - I see what you did there, I'm already sold. You had the "alarm bells" bit about BBC in there twice, but I agree, Geenius definitely have potential and I'm glad they finally debuted! There's one totally nugu (as in, released one single and you can't even find it easily) soloist I really liked years ago, called Luah. I think her song was a special project from Areia Creations (the remix guy), called "Feelin' It." The MV is super cringey, but the song was ahead of its time, doing tropical house in Kpop before that trend really took off. I listened to that song nonstop in spring 2017

For a nugu group to cover, I highly recommend Eite!! They debuted a few months ago with the song Independent Woman, and it EATS. They have a strong, mature concept with great vocals and choreo, and they're all ADULTS which is so refreshing. And the song itself is an absolute bop with synth beats. I decided to stan the moment I checked them out.

Something about nugu groups that makes me often times very nervous about them, which is even mentioned in the video, are trashy companies, even of the groups mentioned in the fourth chapter there are two whose companies I really don’t like (BBC for very obvious reasons and FM due to the Beomhan situation) so I get why a lot of people don’t even check out those groups but there are so many good ones that it makes it really sad A personal favourite group that I personally feel comfortable actually calling nugu would be CSR, their songs are so good, the members seem sweet (and really talented) and the company doesn’t seem to bad (love that they got a very sweet concept considering the members all debuting with around 17 years and also their physical albums are such a treat to open due to the very pure and honest feeling I get from the group if that makes any sense)

off the top of my head my recommendation would be 24k. They also competed on mix nine and have enough lineup changes for a rania-style timeline video.

The "nuguest" group i stanned were Laysha and Badkiz/Hot Place, the hardest thing are the member changes and the hiatus for Badkiz, as Laysha seems to be quit active

A somewhat nugu group that imo deserves a video of it's own is NINE.i They're a boy group that nobody really ever talks about, but their music is just amazing! One of the contestants made it really far in Boys Planet

I love the idea of sharing some nugu groups! I would recommend PIXY and E'LAST, both have very distinct and impressive sounds and imagery and I'm shocked neither of them are better recognized.

If you're going to feature more Nugudom groups, well... there's one group who only last year produced a song called "Nugudom". They're called *CRAXY*. Think of them like a dark/harder, more rap focused Dreamcatcher or PIXY. They are insanely good, both in terms of vocals and choreography. I'm shocked that no one in the comment section is saying a word about them, which only means they are SUPER slept on. Aside from "Nugudom", check out "Undercover", "Poison Rose", and "No Limit". These are all fairly recent and gives a showcase of how capable they are (especially the mix-tapes, which sort of have an NMIXX feel in that it's like several songs made into one). Lastly.... Pocket Girls serving the Lord by helping the military find Jesus, lmao. Midnight Theories getting a little sassy this video lol.

Talking about nugu groups always makes me think of VAV because theyre the opposite of nugu (theyve been active for 7+ years at this point) but they're constantly labeled as nugu by articles/videos and its become an inside joke amongst fans on how aggravating it must be to them lol

You should talk about Blady or D.Holic if you get the chance! There's nothing sinister or dark about the groups thankfully, but they do have great music and are barely remembered.

companies with smaller budgets should just film outside tbh and choose interesting locations. it might not be as exciting for koreans but international fans would appreciate scenes of korea and everyday korean life. also having a low budget doesn’t mean you can’t be creative. there are iconic videos out there where there is just a plain background and the focus is on the singer’s acting/facial expression or maybe just drawing some art for the background of the MV or something, putting face paint on, etc. these companies need to hire more creative production teams that know how to work with limited budgets

A charming group that i've been stanning for a while is QIX (an LGBTQ+ group) to me, they're promising if only they had alot of funds i feel like they could make some banger songs/mvs 😩. However the music they had released already still slaps!

My problem with nugu groups (that I dont stan them) its because their songs are boring, they sound the same.
