I actually signed in simply to "like" this video and write this comment. I normally wouldn't bother but...The Black Angels are a great band which sound as if they're symbiotically living here now and back in the 60s quite easily. I am moved when I see them in a show or film, as their songs are truly cinematic. One of my favorite top 10 "rock" bands of all time. Thank you Angels.

AdrianVino I did the same exact thing... I feel the same way you do, The Black Angels are pretty amazing and timeless in a way.. They are truly out of their realm.

H Bella very much so. Do you play music yourself? Recommend any bands? Wall of Death is pretty good ( the psych band--there are a few different bands with that name).

Agreed. Last time I saw them a band called Wall Of Death opened up for them. They are amazing.

it's kinda weird what I feel for great bands like these. They play amazing, incredible people making psychedelic rock and still being underground and pretty underrated very sad really. But in the end, truly amazing art is enjoyed by few people with good taste.

I always have a lump in my throat when I listen to and hear the black Angels. they are by far a band that will always be with me, that voice of Alex Mass is amazing and Stephanie Bailey is a stunning person and drummer.

i remember when i first found out about them, thru myspace maybe around 08. i moved to austin the same year and was really happy knowing id get the chance to see them live. first band to show me modern day 'psych' and i was hooked. the last time i saw them play was at stubbs years ago and they brought out Roky Erickson on stage as a complete surprise guest to the audience. needless to say the place went nuts. they are always in my top 5 no question.

Love the Black Angels! Have their entire discography and listen to it (way) more than anything else. Really hope we get to hear some (okay all) of their unreleased stuff soon!

I enjoy their music, a lot. Wouldn't consider myself a huge fan, meaning I don't own all their albums, but I do think they put out some great sounds. With that said, would have never, ever guessed they'd be like this in an interview. Not being rude, but they just seem quite normal, quite thoughtful, quite regular. No depressed or drugged out artists here. (Not that I have anything against drugs!) I guess I just mean - they seem too down to earth to be such excellent musicians! Rock on, this is a great band!

agreed, just another reason they are one of the best in the scene.

And, boom! Finally saw them live last night in Carrboro, NC at Cat's Cradle. 19 October 2022. What a band, what a sound! Stood there totally sober for around 90 minutes and felt like I was in a trance. The sound, the bass, the fuzz, the visuals, the lights. I enjoy small venues, but boy oh boy, I'd love to see them on a bigger stage with even more lights and visuals. True artists. I hope they continue doing what they love, and hopefully making music, for a long time. I really feel genuinely lucky to have seen them live. Phew! And just found out Christian started playing guitar at 20? That is bonkers.
