With regards to guild missions, when I first started back 7 years ago I really enjoyed guild missions being a real reason for guilds to go do them, incredible money and exp rewards AND having them dedicated to a server meant you would find other guilds there competing for the kills, that made the game really immersive for me

Holy shit the guild loyalty concept you described never hit me that hard. I joined guild that I barely passed the trial for back in 2019, and they only let me in cuz I was a staff and they needed staffs at that point. They invested in me though and I have shown my loyalty sticking with them through mergers, increases in tiers, going uncapped sieges and so on over the years (from top3 T1 guild, to owners of uncapped castles through fair fights). Nowadays that leadership is retired, but if they came back and said "we are going back to nodewars and need a solid core", I would quit my guild and go back to them. You are the most loyal to the guild that put effort and trust in you. I, despite not being a leader or a core member of any pvp guild at the moment, have pvpers loyal to me, not the guild, not the core, me, as I was their introduction to pvp, I got them introduced to my guild that I was just a member of, I trained them in BA and I knew them since season gear or earlier. If I need core for my guild, I also know where to go for players.

The Mediah questline is actually the only one that I kind of like. There is more of a gray morality decision making. The plot twist and the second guessing is a lot more interesting than the more black and white decisions in the others.

Land of the morning light is not a good start to the game, it's a 10 hour stunlock

Hot take: as a developer, if you have to force people to do your content by incentivizing it with MANDATORY rewards, like journals or gear or whatever, whilst otherwise nobody would play that content, you just made bad content. What happens with the main story questlines too is that it feels too forced, I agree with Tony here that the Balenos questline gives players more freedom to experience to game as an actual sandbox and simply decide not to partake in the main story. All the other regions feel too far out from where the game takes place making you not feel engaged with the content and removing the freedom of it. Your thoughts?

As a player who has only gotten 3 characters past 61, i have done the story line on 1 main character, like all the main stories. There is ZERO reason why my old characters dont have those auto completed, or at least the option to enable the auto completion. I refuse to do quest lines over and over. If it wasn't for my guild telling me exactly what stories i would need i would of been completely lost. YOU MUST BE IN A GUILD AS NEW PLAYER, you will be missing out on so much help and buffs. We need a guild mission rework FORSURE, we need solo missions and group missions.

I honestly agree with the Calpheon story , I always wanna run alt through story and I think of Calpheon and change my mind. Mediah I honestly enjoyed it wasn’t super long , I liked the story but sad they kinda just left it hanging, I wish they would like do and Elvia version of it so I have more reasons to go there

how does selling caphras get infinite potions faster? buying it? would you actually recommend that to a new player?

quest are 100% the worst from a new player experience. I had 3 or 4 friends trying the game but stopped immediately because they did NOT get to experience the game in the first 5 hours. They all think its all the game has to offer (for the majority) and left.

I havent listened to this yet but im a huge fan of this podcast the stuff thats bugging me is that neither Jay or Blue thru many episodes didnt invite someone with extensive knowledge of other mmos the ideas were ok on what we need in bdo but it could have been much broader btw im a new player myself been playing for about a month :) I started from runescape to lineage 2 from that to wow and eso and bdo now im on episode 27 of listening so hopefully im going to be proven wrong :D

The MQ needs to be 100% optional. Every friend I try to get into this game leaves at heidal. The journals should be the "main quest" it should take an Hr to completeand by the end of it you should be atleast lvl 56.

I do think you are a little too rough on Jaykun, not letting him finish talking or straight up talking down on him, not balanced between good and bad talk on him imo

Why are we talking about the new player experience and we spend 20 minutes yapping about which of the three mandatory questlines (you have to do them all anyway) sucked the least then over half the rest of the video is just advice about how to set up and stack your guild for node wars? What new player is going to care about node wars or even know what they are unless a content creator or someone else in the game tells them about it? I don't think we're getting a good "new player talk" from a dude that's just like "Enhancement? The eatingduring podcast is unprofessional. It's gross to hear you gargle words while speaking and chomping on your pringles/pretzels. It's gross to hear and watch you eat and speak when you're solo streaming, it's exponentially worse when you're in an episode podcast involving other podcast partners, it's unacceptable and classless behavior to do this when you invite a guest.
