In the vast expanse of space, a derelict starship, the USS Palomino, stumbles upon the enigmatic black hole, Cygnus X-1, and the seemingly deserted USS Cygnus. The Palomino's crew, led by Captain Dan Holland, discovers the Cygnus is controlled by the enigmatic Dr. Hans Reinhardt, who harbors a dark and twisted ambition to harness the black hole's power. As they delve deeper into the ship, the crew faces chilling revelations about Reinhardt's experiments and the horrifying fate of the Cygnus' original crew. With the black hole's gravitational pull growing stronger, they must escape the sinister forces at play before being consumed by the void.

A great movie shamefully overlooked during its initial run. Disney originally made Black Hole in 1978-79 to cash in on the sci-fi craze started by Star Wars in 1977 and now in 2020 Disney own both Star Wars and FOX. Disney has literally become a black hole and is eating up all its competition

Loved this when I was a kid starving for another Star WArs film.. but now.. I remember how long it felt.... IF they rebot this and cqll it Star wArs fans will love it... just because it says Star Wars/The Black Hole!!!!... lol

this project is on perpetual hold unfortunately. Originally Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim) wrote a script for Disney, Kosinski was supposed to direct, (along with another Tron sequel). www.slashfilm.com/tron-legacy-team-to-remake-disneys-the-black-hole/ The project stalled as Disney acquired a few notable, and profitable properties you may have heard of. They then had a rewrite done but again, on hold because Disney is making so much money between Pixar, Marvel, LFL and their normal stuff that there is no point to take a chance on a project that may or may not make profit. :( www.slashfilm.com/the-black-hole-remake/

Wrong actors, childish robots, bad choices for the robots voices. This is a cheap space opera, not Sci Fi. It could have been amazing, but wasn't.

Great movie!I hope they don't do something stupid like remake it!Way too many movies are being remade these days.Ghostbusters was most definitely the worst idea yet.It was already a perfect classic,and then screwed up even worse by choosing to use an all female cast.Thank you feminists by ruining everything.
