The Black Maria

9 жыл бұрынIn 1894, Thomas Edison filmed sharpshooter Annie Oakley in his Black Maria studio. He was testing a new device called the kinetograph, an electrically powered camera capable of capturing motion.
“Edison” premieres January 27, 2015 on PBS American Experience.

I have seen the black Maria from the outside many times in W. Orange. I wish they'd open it to the public, at least for an event.

Hmmm, no mention of Louis Le Prince, William Friese-Greene? William Dickson did all the "synthesizing" (and he was indeed brilliant). All Edison did was pay for it and take the credit.

Edison came from a poor family. He didn't become rich by doing nothing. He was true visionary and he worked tirelessly to achieve his works.

@@inisipisTV Valid, and if you read my comment, nothing I said goes against your points. What I did say, which is factually true, is that in regards to film Thomas Edison gets the credit for investing in it and hiring William Dickson, not the hero status portrayed in this skewed documentary. Film was invented by the Europeans mentioned (et. al.) and truly improved by Dickson, who was employed by Edison.
