"How long can it possibly take to learn SFM" he said. "It can't be that hard." He said. "This will only take me a month or two" He said.
Mod: www.moddb.com/mods/hazardous-...
Voice over work done by Mike Hillard of Black Mesa fame. Go check out his website it's neat. (onlyintheory.com/)
Intro music made by the Golf Cheat BavonZF.
Also I forgot to say it in the video but thank you as well to all the kind people in the maplabs discord for helping me with figuring out the hammer editor.
Because youtube has now started scanning descriptions for song titles I can't just post a list but if you were to replace all all the # symbols with A's you'd get the songs. (FILL THIS IN LATER FUTURE JOLLY)

I may have slightly under estimated how long it takes to learn to use SFM and the Hammer editor. Also a question I'll answer pre-emptively: Q: Didn't you already play this?! A: Technically yes, 8 years ago I did "play" this but to be honest those old videos were mostly just me no clipping to the mildly entertaining parts while watching youtube in the background. All my reactions in this are genuine, I had basically zero recollection of this mod. The only parts I remembered clearly were the lift falling down, bolder at the start of the training and the end of the sky tower. All half life mods have basically blended together in my head as a sort of amorphous soup at this point. Also if you're wondering about all the doors I didn't try and open or places I seemed not to explore you've got to remember I had chat guiding me for most of this. I did explore way more than is show in the video but I do a lot of editing to make things look seamless.

I'm baffled how most of the comments are about Jolly being alive or how this video is good for sleeping. I just watched the whole thing for a second time and still can't believe how much effort and time you would put just to showcase a half-life mod. It is a true love letter to modding scene and respect to creator. Those SFM bits fit so well and felt cozy and nostalgic, like they would be taken from actual mod cutscenes or a trailer. Chill stream atmosphere and game focused commentary are what makes it simple yet amusing and proofs that talented people don't need a ton of editing to be entertaining. Thank you very much for all the time and love you put into this masterpiece.

@@sanitylost4271 As a video editor, that statement couldn't be further from the truth. It's highly chopped up, has intermittent SFM segments (which themselves have quite a bit of editing going on,) has music layered on top for some segments, timers added for some segments, and the subtitles are manually tracked in 3d space for on-screen NPCs, which sometimes have masking to make them blend into the environment, or are edited to have special effects like for the hologram which looks like a custom effect that has to be manually tracked as well, meaning it's animated _frame by frame._ You are mistaking editing for "camera cuts every two seconds." This is editing done right, it takes skill, it's time consuming, and chances are that 99% of people (like you) aren't going to notice it because it's subtle. Don't take it for granted.

For anyone who wants to try this mod but is put off by the tram car maze that Jolly got stuck on for an hour, here's some advice for completing it (relatively) painlessly: 1) the code Jolly finds at 1:32:17 is actually the sequence of turns you need to make to reach the exit. Only the intersections that allow you to change directions count. 2) if you'd rather not remember the code, there's an easier way to keep track of where to go: whenever you reach an intersection **always** change the direction. If I'm not mistaken, this will always put you in the right direction. If it doesn't, mindlessly doing this is still a foolproof strategy, as going the wrong direction will simply loop you back around. 3) despite what the narrator says, there's nothing stopping you from parking the tram right next to the button (and therefore, on the tracks that are supposed to shift). Doing so just causes your tram to course-correct as soon as it starts moving again, immediately locking onto whichever track you've set it to regardless of which one it started on. Doing this is a good way to avoid the many falling deaths and electrocution damage. 4) upon entry and exit of the maze, set the tram to go slow, as this will significantly reduce the odds of the physics glitching out and making you take damage when the tram turns 90 degrees vertically

The easiest way to get through the tram car maze is to pay attention and if you see a button immediately stop the tram and go and press it, you need to press every button once to reach the end, also be sure to hop on the front of the train once you see the climb to the end and be careful if you hear the jumping sound being spammed as you'll take massive fall damage if you let it go on for too long.
