My Grandfather was an extra for this movie, He and his friends were on leave at the time (USS Colorado or the USS Arizona) and They Hired Sailors because they could swim. He said it was great fun and when they pulled the plug on one of the Ships, they didn't tell them, it was every man for himself.

My grandfather did all of the special effects - Fairbanks coming down the mast, the pirates swimming under water (they weren't in water for the sequence) and also Thief of Baghdad and all of Fairbanks' films. My grandfather probably knew your grandfather! Mine was Coy Watson, Sr.

Concordo. Chato, cansativo, repetitivo. Busquei ZORRO e apareceu: DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS 1920 (bom, divertido),1925 ( .está sem musica, é bom), A MARCA DO ZORRO (1975), A FILHA DO MOSQUETEIRO (bom). Tem mais uns 2 da relação bons mas me perdi entre tantos. DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS foi o primeiro ZORRO. Era ginasta Olimpico. Bem humorado. Imagem ruim mas vale a pena o de 1920. 1925 bom mas sem som, mais ou menos. Se quizer, CHARLIE CHAPLIN curta metragem.. O IMIGRANTE, RING, CASA DE PENHORES.. .longa-metragem.. O GAROTO, LUZES DA CIDADE, O GRANDE DITADOR. Estão perfeitos.

Thanks, I'd forgotten how we as children watched these movies in the mid sixties at our local cinema on rainy Saturdays. Shhh,i can't read with all that chitchat.

This was filmed in glorious two strip technicolor...I have a dvd with that print and it is superb

Captain Kidd is another excellent public domain pirate movie CCC could show, if you haven't already. Very entertaining.

Como diz o outro internauta....cansa... Mas é bonito o.navio/barco que arranjaram para fazer o filme.1926 e é filme de época. Cansa. O DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS era o JACK CHAN da época. ❤

Sad that this availability of seeing the immortal DF comes only now. His son wouldn't release the showing rights until, my Dad thought anyway, pay per view came along. Strange thing is, this was long before that he said that. 1960's.

La damisela en peligro es la más insípida de las mujeres trofeos que he visto en mucho tiempo. Totalmente prescindible, sólo sirve para recordar al protagonista porque se había hecho pirata.

I thought this was suppose to be the first film in Technicolor! Possibly a black and white print!

The first film in technicolor was " the toll of the sea" in 1922...a few years before this one

@@nondescript2892 "Joan the Woman" (1916) was filmed in Technicolor. The company set up its cameras next to De Mille's to prove it worked. He bought and incorporated some of it.

Why would anyone put this up in black & white, when it was filmed in Technicolor? The whole reason we have color is basically because of this movie! It saved Technicolor from bankruptcy!

Where's the 2-strip Technicolor?? The color in this movie has historic significance. Very disappointing for this channel, which usually does a better job.
