About The Blacklist: For decades, ex-government agent Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader, TV’s “The Office,” “Boston Legal”) has been one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as “The concierge of Crime.” Now, he’s mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help catch the world’s most elusive criminals, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (Megan Boone, TV’s “Law & Order: Los Angeles”), an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. For Liz, it’s going to be one hell of a first day on the job.

@@kinngrimm If you want a recap of how complicated those show gets (I have watched all 9 seasons) here you go: Warning spoilers below!!!!!!! So in like season 5, Tom kicks the bucket because he finds a file of dna related to reddington. Reddington has Tom killed, Liz finds out and plots revenge. Season 6, it is discovered that our reddington is not the real reddington who actually died 30 years prior. Then Liz goes on a hunt to find out our red really is. By this point Liz finds out the real reddington was here father. Then in season 7, Liz gets a lead on the secret identity but then reddington kills all the leads. Also, now a women claiming to be liz’s mom enters the picture and Liz of course buys into it. They form an alliance against reddington. At the same time, red wants to kill liz’s mom because she could expose secrets to Liz. So then fast forward to season 8, red finally hunts down liz’s mom and shoots her point blank in the chest while staring at Liz. At this point Liz is infuriated and forms an alliance with a guy named Townsend who’s family was killed by kgb. Somehow, Liz thinks red is tied to it. She tries to have him killed in multiple ways for like 15 episodes. Then Liz finds out the women pretending to her mom was only another kgb agent who lied. She forgives red, feels horrible about trying to kill him again. Red takes her to some bucket in France where the “blacklist” lives. Apparently, it is an organization that feeds red the info he has. Liz learns almost all the secrets she ever wanted except the identity of reddington and where her mom is. The Townsend tries to kill them only for him to incinerated. To end the season, red asks Liz to kill him because he fulfilled his purpose in life. He gives dembay an envelope which has the remaining secrets Liz wants. Liz is about to kill him then hesitates. This results in INE of townsends guys shooting a bullet through Liz’s heart killing her. Red is devastated and shoots townsends guy multiple times in the face point blank and that’s how the season ends. Season 9 starts two years later where red and dembay have parted ways, red is bow with some Indian chick 30 years younger than him, Restler became an addict, Harold apparently killed someone but doesn’t remember it (still ongoing), Restler also grew a beard (now gone), Agent park, a character introduced in season 7 got married, Aram left millions in a tech company to rejoin the task force. So ya, that’s about it! This was very long and left out parts about the task force to only focus on red and liz. Hope this helps!

And then!....William Shatner walks in, to which Reddington says "I've gotten myself a new lawyer", and Shatner eyes the room, saunters up to the judge, and...wait for it...."Denny Crane."

As many have already stated, James Spader did play Alan Shore on Boston Legal (also for one season on The Practice). Did you know that Harry Lennix, the IRL name of the actor who plays Harold Cooper, was also in The Practice? I believe he was only on two episodes, but a nice little trivia. While not featured in the scene, the actress who played Mr. Kaplan (not sure of the actresses name) was a judge on The Practice.
