The genius of "The Blair Witch Project" is that it forces the viewer to use their IMAGINATION to visualize just what those horrifying creatures in the forest look like -- one of many reasons why the SEQUEL didn't work at all: It was wayyyyyy too literal-minded for its own good.

Fam. They literally were going to show the witch. They had an actor dress in a white shawl and coke towards Heather and Mike. The moment when Heather screams “WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!” Mike was supposed to pan to the left. But he didn’t and because this movie was going for verisimilitude they didn’t do re-shoots. So unfortunately they didn’t capture the witch on camera.

I remember people coming out of the theater saying BWP wasn’t scary. To me it was the scariest horror film since Texas Chainsaw Massacre. They weren’t paying attention.

One of the best films of all time. This movie is just *chef's kiss*. I would love to see a proper documentary about the making of it with all the actors and whatnot.

The only horror film I've seen in recent memory that generated almost as many chills for me as "The Blair Witch Project" repeatedly does for me is "The Exorcism Of Emily Rose" ... another superb film that wisely depends on first-rate acting, especially, instead of very obvious special effects....

It still freaks me out and awes me at the same time. I watched it, in 1999 when I was 23, and I ended up asking the guy next to me, if I could hold on to him lol 😂. Still scares me and I'm 45 now lol 😂
