I can't believe the Blood Brothers actually played on TV. That's insane.

I really miss this stuff. The Seattle hardcore music scene was crazy back in the day but is non existent nowadays... or maybe I’m just getting old.

@@MS-js8ui I feel you! This whole genre of post hardcore was a golden age of music that is becoming lost in time. I was part of the Denver scene from 04-09, played in two bands, and that was really the full lifespan of it. Not sure why it died out exactly but if I had to guess I think it just became too trendy. Towards the end every high school was like 50% scene kids lol and a bunch of 13 year olds started flooding into the shows too. Probably just stopped being cool at that point, and the scene definitely wasn't the same. The 04-06 scene was like a family. You'd go to a show and know the majority of people there. 2010+ all those scene kids became obsessed with mustaches, fixie gear bikes and indie rock that all sounded the same. The post hardcore scene was far more creative imo, so many unique bands from that era.

@@ooooswain You could write a whole thesis on the emo wave... It was a phenomenon. I must say I have listened to some bands that I used to be into back then and it is really bad, like cringe-worthy. But The Blood Brothers are musically on a different level than the average scene band or post-hardcore band. Even post-hardcore that I thought was really good maybe 10 years ago I listen to now and think it's pretty un-listenable, and bad.

I'm surprised they chose to play this song of all songs off this album. I'm not complaining. I love this song. I figured they would have played crimes or something more "poppy".

It sounds off cause the guitar sounds so distant and the bass is so low. They definitely needed two guitarists if they were gonna be mixed this way

Hey did you ever listen to the albums on good speakers? The album "Crimes", which this song was on, and then the album after it, "Young Machetes", are both way nicer sounding than the bad sound of this live late night show. Definitely worth giving it a try if you haven't already. The voices are still squeaky but while this live thing was kind of hard to listen to for me, the recorded albums are really enjoyable to me.

@@kristoferlarson Yeah I have a decent stereo, I really like the song structure, production and instrumentals of their stuff but I still can´t get into the vocals... But I´m still trying every once in a while, sometimes things like that grow on me over time and I totally get their over all appeal
