We own (4) 411 Auto, one for each bedroom. We recently bought the 311 Auto for downstairs. Keeps the air fresh not stale. Blue purifiers are among the best. Yes, they really do work and keep your home or apartment fresh, clean and much healthier air.

Hi - after 5 months have you noticed a carbon smell or unpleasant smell from the purifier? I am seeing reviews from the previous year stating this problem...checking in before I buy. Thanks

@@anthonygrobler9806 No. I own 4 smaller 911 plus units and 1 411. I have owned them for 2 years and no smells but fresh air. I vacuum them weekly and then change every 3 months the core filter.

When does the air purifier increase the fan speed? From which PM2.5 reading onwards? I try to keep my PM2.5 at 1 all the time. Auto is of no use for me if the air purifier increases the fan speed when PM2.5 is as high as 20.

I own two 211+ Auto's. Very good and quiet units. Even though the highest speed is very noticeable, it's not an iritating noise. I just keep them on Auto Mode and they work fine. They will detect smoke when I blow out candles, or when I clean with household chemicals. They clean the air good. The issue with the 311 and 411, is the filter cage is not on the outside like the 211. The 211 filter is easy to take out and put back in, without removing the pre-filter.

Question, I have a big 50 m2 (~500 square foot) room, I could buy the big 411 without auto or this smaller one with auto mode. Both model would cost the same. Which one would you choose?

The 411 is actually smaller than this, If you want a larger one get a 211 which I’ve also reviewed.

@@phototristan thanks for your reply! Sorry I meant 311. I m based in EU and I think the names of the blue air purifiers are different. 211 is called 221 and 311 is perhaps the same as 3410. So I was thinking about to buy 3410 (311 auto?) 250cfm. I like that it has a sensor and feedback about the air quality, ut not sure if a 211 (221) without the sensor would be a better deal for 50sqm.

for 500sqft you want the 211+ Auto. The others are too small for that space.

for 500sqft+ you want the 211+ Auto. Or at least 2 of the 311+ Auto's. The 411 forget it, it is for very small rooms and doesn't move much air on low.

Are any of the BlueAir purifiers hepa only? I can't have any with ionizers or plasma, we have Macaws.

They are electrostatic filters and not just filters. They don't use a hepa filter.

@@lightnoir6914 I don't know if they are affective against viruses but they filter down to 0.1micron. You would need to know the size of the virus. The electrostatic will keep that all clinging to the filter. If my husband brings home a cold I still get his cold. Guess because we share a bed together. I personally don't like the electrostatic because I have asthma and I am sensitive to ozone.

I just bought a new one, and the fan isn't coming on at all. Is there any troubleshooting you can recommend?

That seems odd. It may be defective but try another outlet as the first step.

I tried several outlets and all are working. Lights come on, but no fan. I'm just going to exchange it at point of sale.

My biggest complaint about this model is the adapter. It’s as bulky as 90’s phone charger. I don’t think it’s that difficult or costly to integrate the power adapter into the machine.

I got the 411 auto today and on the highest boost setting I can feel the breeze on the other side of my living room it’s unbelievable. I iike that this is a HEPA and an ionizer at the same time
