Here’s something I don’t do very often. I’ve shared some of my favorite blues licks and ideas here. I think you’ll get some good use out of these!
I’m very proud to have been asked by our own “Uncle Larry” to be a guest on his gig here in Nashville at 3rd & Lindsley, Dec 20th along with my old pal, Jedd Hughes and some all star band members.

I love your sound, but you're too far ahead of me. You don't elaborate enough. I'm trying to see which triad or chord you're playing and you are already off to an octave higher. I'll get there someday and check my progress by coming back to see if I can follow better.

Even more amazing than his effortless mastery of the neck is the well-spring of never ending ideas that GT has at his command! From listening to Guthrie’s gospel of connecting and playing between chord shapes (and learning fragmented shapes up and down) I feel like he has cracked the code for me. Now I understand what fretboard freedom really means! It takes time and work but it’s well worth it. Thank you, GT!

Nice lesson. That is a crazy clean ‘66? I had one that was a serious “player grade”. Same color but roughed up, nicotine faded, rusted, and no finish left on the back of the neck. Same mellow sound.

I really enjoyed this lesson. A lot of immediately useful licks that are easy to play but really effective and which I have already incorporated into my playing. I also think that you have put in just the right amount of theory. Enough so that you learn why the licks work but not so much that is overwhelming. Very well done.

It seems you always seem to post exactly what im looking for! Seeing a video of yours about 6 months ago along with commencing going to a weekly blues jam sent me on a journey of discovery. Ive been playing for 25 years since i was 13 but its these last 6 months where i feel i am making massive progress every day and now feel i am able to play blues rather than do a cheap imitation. I can only wish i had access to amazing free lesson like this when i was a kid growing up, guitar magazines were cool but not quite the same as regular world class teaching for free! We are very lucky...rights lets get stuck into these licks of yours!
