Design / sound and road feel wise, the older cars are just beautiful and better. But can’t deny the performance (esp with x drive) and tech of the new cars. People should just buy what they want and prefer

I think the original M240i is starting to age well and in 15 years time will be the one to have, just like the E30 325i

I actually cross shopped an E92 M3 and an M240i. The sound was intoxicating on the M3 but the reliability and inevitable costly repairs scared me away. As a daily, the M240 is far better, but it’ll never be as fun as an M3 with a good exhaust setup on it 🥲

E92 is king for real! No mods needed! Just maintenance 😆

I agree with the power thing. Don't get me wrong I love a fast car and big power but you really can drive those older cars. I went back to am E46 330ci from my A45 mainly to unlock some money but also there's something about the E46 it feels so good, personally I like it more than the AMG to drive. But it's a definite valid point, I used to have a Yamaha R6 then went to an R1 and while I loved the R1 it was over 100 in 1st gear etc whereas the R6 needed revving and you could actually ring it's beck and hear the sound without doing 150mph in like 10 seconds lol

I agree with a lot of the points in this video. A few years ago I traded in my E92 M3 for the F80 and while the F80 was much faster, looked better and had the modern tech I can honestly say that the E92 was just more fun to drive. As much as I tried to convince myself I loved the F80 I missed the older car.

Yes Tim. Nice content again. Bit different from the norm. Personally old skool rules. The pedigree, unique shapes, design lines. Too many modern day cars of different brands look similar. Especially front end aggressive bumpers. Prefer the vintage BMWs all day long.

e92 shape is timeless cars are way too big now, the g80 looks like an absolute tank, aggressive sure but has no elegance or guile you also don't need to go 0-100 in 4 seconds, you want to enjoy the power not just flex some draggy time if you think these new cars are unengaging and hollow just wait for the electric era

S58 isn’t going to be known for reliability that thing is complicated but monstrous, n55 was reliable s55 is known reliable spun crank hub blown out of proportion, the only one you can truly say is reliable is the n55 that engine has been out the longest by far

N55 had sump issues and charge pipe problems for sure it’s a car you can’t just buy and drive if you get me

I guess I'm who they're designing for, then. I think the old BMWs look like old ugly douche boxes. Lol. Up until 2019, Audi was the best of the 3 germans, MB had their place for some cars, and BMWs looked like trash (to me). Had a S3, S6. Nice cars. I was vocal about this and my friends knew I shit on BMW a lot. Flash forward a few years, BMW have turned a corner for the better. Put my money where my mouth was with the new 2 series, and I had to do a lot of explaining off to my new friends when I pulled the trigger on one and had to explain "yes I think BMW used to be trash but they're just getting better while Audi has gotten worse". People gotta remember, people who waste their time on forums and youtube are generally the minority. That's not who BMW (or car manufacturers) are building for. They build for the whole market.
