I remember them well, I had a friend that had one of her smaller sisters. How yachts have changed over the years. I have gone full circle for my retirement and sail a Contessa 26. Great for day sailing and easily managed with a crew of one black labrador. Keep up the good work with these older yachts. I hope many of them go to first time owners and get many more years afloat.

Thank you Rachael, With a similar vintage Hunter, I am so glad you concentrate on boats that real people can afford to own and sail. Your sailing videos are the best on KZfaq bar none.

Great review thanks, we cruised ours for 2 years and they are great solid boats. She's now in Australia undergoing a refit.

Very informative review, with lots of practical information. Finding it especially useful covering yachts with good sailing manners, having the potential to cover longer distances as well as weekend usage.

I had a Sigma 36 which was in racing form when I bought her, a real flyer, sailing single handed I was getting 8 kn for hours on end with 2 reefs in the main and the small No4 jib. I never did have the main fully hoisted. I found the boat needed a lot of attention at the wheel.I can guess the 38 would not disappoint.

Foretriangle is small as its a 1980s fractional rigged boat. You were only sailing with the blade jib and not the 135% genoa - still not huge, but gives a boost in light airs...
