Ibang level talaga yung singing approach ni Morissette. We need to educate ourselves about singing in order to fully appreciate it. Mas advanced at mas mahirap talaga yung belting approach ni Morissette. She is using a "chest dominant" approach to belting. Ibig sabihin, yung amplification ng boses ni Morissette ay mas pinapadaan nya sa "pharynx" or lalaugan, which is the upper part of the throat behind the mouth. To put it in another way, Morissette is using *A LOT* of "pharyngeal resonance" to project her belts. Singers use "pharyngeal resonance" to enhance the richness, warmth, and projection of the voice. *IT IS RARE TO FIND SINGERS WHO CAN MAINTAIN A GOOD AMOUNT OF "PHARYNGEAL RESONANCE" IN THE BELTING RANGE (B4 to F5 notes).* Mahirap kasi i-develop 'to, for it requires a lot more musculature and effort. You have to have very developed TA (thyroarytenoid) muscles in your larynx to properly shape the resonance and amplification of sound in the pharynx. *Mahirap i-develop yan.* Hindi na rin kasi itinuturo yan sa mga "modern" vocal schools. Mahirap kasi ituro. Instead, what they teach today is the use of more "mask resonance" or "nasal resonance". Ibig sabihin, yung amplification ng boses ay mas pinadadaan sa ilong at sinus cavities. The result is a brighter, thinner and more focused quality to the voice. In other words, mas matinis o manipis yung tono o timbre ng boses. Kaya kakaiba talaga si Morissette dahil she uses A LOT of pharyngeal resonance for her belts. Of course, she also uses 'some' mask resonance for stylistic purposes, but not that much. She is definitely heavy on the pharyngeal resonance throughout her vocal range. This is a much harder approach to develop, but the result is a richer, warmer, fuller tone. *Mori really deserves more appreciation for her well-developed tone.* Napaka-harmonically rich and full throughout her vocal range -- especially evident in her belting range. Hindi numinipis yung birit nya.

Morissette made this song her own and not trying to sound like Whitney. This is BEYOND AMAZING! Sooo addicted to this lady. She can sing Mariah songs very well. She can whistle, do intestinal vocal breaks, squeak, etc. I am surprised she can do Whitney songs EXCELLENTLY as well.
