To prevent duping so many rules just make rules e.g. (x/x+1 -> x+)

I just started playing this game. This is the best maths-based game I've ever played. It's the first game that right from the beginning makes be ask myself "how do I generalise this?" Rather than being pissed off that this isn't really what maths is like, it makes me wonder what branches of maths this involves. Would basic set theory be enough to describe what's going on, or is there more?

Mathematical logics I guess, which is based on set theory and applied to automation and AI. Specifically, it's about axiom theory, which focuses on sufficiency and conciseness. Even the late game improving the performance is relevant, since it's basically balancing the amount of theorems and the complexity of deduction.

This game is a neat idea but it could definitely use some work. In particular, it could use some form of short tutorial for each new concept it introduces. Things like x+/x- are fairly self-explanatory but x* isn't until you get to stuff like x+y*, and that's not necessarily self-explanatory to everyone. And on the other side you have the x/y or x/y/z ones. For anyone who does programming, the "/" signifies division but the game doesn't bother to inform you that it means that it's exactly one of those numbers rather than something division-based.

38:13 Essentially the problem with your rule here is that it generates a constraint that satisfies one of the top two E.g. 1- + 1- generates a 2- but then that 2- can form 2- + 1- = 3-

Fun thing is it has a positive cap but no negative cap. So through some file editing you can add negative offsets and break stuff a lot
