This is the kind of music that I really love. I love her voice, the song, the lyrics and especially the Celtic flute. That sound always gives me the impression of an eagle flying over beautiful mountains and valleys.

My great grandfather was Scottish and sang this song to my grandmother as a nursery rhyme. My grandmother is 93 years old, I want to learn this song because I've been told by my grandmother I sound and look like her father. On her death bed I want to be able to sing this to her, just like her father did 100 years ago

@@yaplamf I've been trying to learn Scottish gaelic on Duolingo because that was my grandmothers first language but she can't speak it anymore. She does understand it though.

wonderfull song, i only knew the version of Runrig so far, this has more outlander vibes, i watched it yesterday evening with a good dram of original light peated Loch Lomond single malt whisky..... that fits..... thx Emma for the request, and thx Highly for your reaction, had to share this to the Nightdreamer Discord ofc. grts from a dutch single malt nerd, living in Germany ....

The song is basically the last words from a dying soldier to his brother in arms. The low road is death, and the high road is life. So essentially the dying soldier is saying to the survivor: "I'm dying, and you are alive, but I'll be back in scotland before you". Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it, and I've been hearing it every year of my life.

What an immature, inaccurate and childishly melodramatic comment to make. As a totally free Scot, nobody is subjugating me or my family and friends. Try putting your energies into the real problems of this world, like climate change, poverty, war, to name but a few.
