In this video, the prophet Lehi is told by the Lord that he and his family must leave their home in Jerusalem and travel to a promised land. During this journey, Lehi’s son Nephi repeatedly shows his faith by following the promptings from the Lord.

The Spirit dwelleth no matter how many times I watch this movie. Wanting for more of these Book of Mormon stories. Kuddos to the directors, staffs, actors and actresses. You hath done a wonderful job portraying the emotions and physical appearances of the people recorded in the BOM. Thank you and keep it all up!

This was such a great video, and really helps to realize that Lehi's family were real people who were commanded by God to depart Jerusalem, and sail to the promised land, (The Americas). It sure felt like it brought the Book of Mormon to life and helps those who are visual learners to better feel the spirit of the Book of Mormon. I hope they continue to make the rest of the like this, although it would be a bit difficult when they get to the book of Alma. There is so much in the book of Alma, that they would have to do several videos.

So sad no one has really found the places, cities, coins, weapons, pottery, swords, sheilds, human remains dating exactly to this book of mormon movie. Unlike the Bible. Even the mormon church leaders have not till this day have a official statement to these places. Another Jesus, another Spirit, another God!

So these golden plates are these the same one Joseph Smith translated?

Good question. No. The plates depicted in the film which Nephi took from Laban were the plates of brass which contained the 5 Books of Moses and the writings of other prophets including many of the writings of Jeremiah. They are called the Brass Plates and were not given to Joseph Smith. Joseph was given the plates of Gold which contained the Book of Mormon - which tells the narrative which you see in this video.

for something advertised as a musical I thought the Book of Mormon was going to have a few more songs and laughs than what this :(

Why do all these movie makers insist on using the "thees" and "thous" which makes the actors' jobs much more difficult? It's a stilted language and you _may_ pull it off if you're a Shakespearean actor and you have a good director. Sadly, these BofM videos have neither. They sound as though they're reading lines without their glasses. I wish someone would make a decent BofM movie with modern language. They also spend too much time using lines right out of the BofM. That's no way to make a movie. It's great for kids, though.
