My breeding season has started now and I’ve already got some hens sitting on eggs. My best pairs are looking hopeful too. An update on the Bearded Reedlings too!!

Well I thought about keeping her, but I’ve only got one cock that would be the ideal match and as you’re so enthusiastic about starting with Borders, I thought I’d let you have her. I’ve still got the variegated white so hopefully she’ll produce some more allied birds for me👍

enjoy all your videos and have picked up a lot from them,this week was the blue egg!..a bit about me i live in rainford merseyside i have retired this year so im just taking my time lining ect and will be looking to bring in some bird sept/oct time looking at the lizards or fifes, any way hope you stay well, i know it,s tuff with your condition i too had an opp on spine and now on meds, any way thats enough twoddle from me so keep doing the vids ther great!...ste

Hey pal. Thanks for your message - really appreciate you taking the time. Great to hear that you’re going to be getting some canaries in the not too distant futures - but why not get a couple of Borders too?!?! 😉 😉. Yeah the back pain can be a real problem some days. Hiya mate. Glad you like the video 👍👍 I usually use my DSLR but the bloody thing's not working today. Gotta try and work out what's wrong with it - hopefully have it mended for next week.

I do like the allied colours so I’m planning on pairing the variegated up and hope to produce some more from her.

how do you already have canary eggs? my goodness mine arent even nesting yet. not sure what i did wrong :( one female slept in nest overnight the other night and males are singing but nothing yet.

Don't worry David - they will get there when they're ready. You can't rush them. I've controlled my bird's diet and birdroom lighting specifically to start them early this year. It's far from ideal but we have planned a family holiday this year so I needed to try and get breeding done early. It might not work for me and I might have lots of clear eggs yet!! Good luck 👍👍

oh i see. this is my first time so ill take your word for it. thanks again :) another birder in the US, UTAH said another month for him... hes only just pairing now, but not even in breeding cages yet...@@bordercorner thanks for the reply mate, i appreciate it alot. my first time breeding myself and its really exciting and i love the birds :)
