Once again, you've made me nostalgic for a specific period of time. I do remember the reviews for this back in the day aligning with your score, so it's good to know the game deserved what it got

Back when I was a sixteen year old in the early 2000s. I also dressed similarly to the main character except with black attire, dog collar and chain.🖤🖤

Fair response, it's one of those games that requires a lot of grinding to really digg into the funner parts of the combat which is a big mistake I think, makes the initial run through of the game a rough one. Still one of my first PS2 games so I'll always have a soft spot for it!

Absolutely right mate, just replaying the early going to get footage was kind of sluggish. The versus mode is worth seeing once at least. Cheers for watching mate!

Summed up well! My biggest issue was just how ponderous the fighting felt, it was just so flat in its execution.

@@swooperd absolutely, think its those ragdoll physics again. You combo, wait for a foe to get up, then repeat

Lack of replay value? It has new game + and alternate cutscenes tho. This game was an absolute joy in the era of arcade battlers, where you and your friend had a couple of hours to hang out. The runtime was perfect for a quick coop adventure, and the new game + feels impactful with the RPG system present. Games don't have to be bloated with content to be fun.

Even with my multiple playthroughs and playing Survival/Versus, my gameplay time added up to about eight hours, whereas classics like Streets of Rage I had way more hours. This game also has no co-op story, so not sure how you had co-op adventures with this game. Maybe you're thinking of a different game.

@@Steadysphere 8 hours is 4 high quality visits with friends. I should have clarified that I meant couch coop swapping the controller each level/ play thru. I'm definitely biased to more 3D style fighters as well.

The first ps2 game I owned believe it or not. Soft spot for it as I played it to death as short as it is. Correct it does hold up graphically. Blasphemous, its the greatest game ever to have existed take that back 😂
