Nestled in the hills of Central Kentucky lies the remains of a little known, but historic, short line. The Bourbon Road tells the story of the Frankfort and Cincinatti, and its beloved and treasured history. So come along as we tell the story of the F&C!
Thank you to Ed Vasser and Mike Gillespie for their wonderful interviews!

Very nice video there! As someone who is a HUGE fan of the F&C and has plans in place to model it one day I'm glad someone who is younger did this Shortline Justice and preserved its memory for the wider audience on KZfaq to see and hopefully spread around to others. God bless and have a wonderful day!

You were lucky to get interviews with these gentlemen that had first hand knowledge, Ed Vasser I had heard his named mentioned.

What memories !! My grandfather was Harry Cook. Like said in the interview he lived across the street from the Georgetown Depot and next door to Mr. Scroggin. This is a good video, but please, please don't put music in the background when doing them. It really takes away from the interview and for us old one's, the background noise (music) is a big distraction.

One point of correction, the derailment in 1985 that put the F&C out of business did not occur on the Buffalo Trace Trestle, rather, it was on the deck girder bridge over the Elkhorn Creek located behind the Old Granddad Distillery. I took pictures of the bridge right after the derailment had occurred on the bridge and damaged it. The repair costs were so great that the F&C abandoned the rest of its track between the Forks of the Elkhorn to Frankfort.

Thank you for the correction! I definitely want to refine this project more at a later date and add more details. The interviews themselves were great but I had to cut a bunch from due to time constraints which sucks

Please do the Lexington subdivision. The most pointless and hurtful abandonment of a track.

The cardinal at KRM still has a split axel or something?
@professional_foamer2716
@professional_foamer2716 Ай бұрын
I think that’s been fixed for a while now, but the frogs that KRM has and the bolts that are on the outside of the wheels don’t bode well so they can’t really run it

@@professional_foamer2716 was curious why they didn’t. Had assumed it was either the axel or it being gas powered much like the pennsy doodlebug
