The mom in this clip is their buffer and 'outside world' translator. Her son is utterly brilliant and the team's baby brother. Not a bad show, honestly. I can not remember the name, but it starred Gary Coleman during the height of his popularity (when Diff'rent Strokes was the top sitcom on TV). He played a rich kid at a private school who was constantly daydreaming, imagining himself as the hero in all sorts of action movie cliches.

There's no way you just decrypt something like that. This is ridiculous. That's not how encryption works. It's an entropy game so no matter how good you are, it's just a matter of time and you can't really do it that fast unless it was like ages ago. It's kind of dumb

The more layers of encryption you add the easier it gets each layer as even for decryption software only the first two layers are needed to figure out a pattern or any underlying files and or decryption keys become useless. did a test with this a while back where i hidden a video inside a png file and encrypted it with 8 passes and then converted the data to a txt file which i could just pastebin. 3 days for 120 people to message me the string of text hidden inside a layer of the video

So let me get this straight. A video game, which takes months or years to make, had a map and location of an FBI safehouse in its code and was encrypted ten times. This game is released with this information in it. This boy and the cartel were the only two to decrypt it. Instead of the FBI going after the cartel and the developer for leaking government secrets, they go after a little boy.... That's actually on brand for the FBI, honestly. Feds are either incompetent or malicious, sometimes both. Its how they ignore school shooters and arrest grandmas.

For those wondering why you would put information like that in a videogame, they didn't. It was information obtained illegally by someone who then took advantage of an independent game designer to pass intel to his clients as secret levels in the game eith his knowledge. Ralph found the game through the dark web, found and completed the secret level, which enabled someone to use the intel to assassinate an important target.

@@stevencovington4715 Not quite. The kid in Mercury Rising was an extreme autistic and a savant. He was also the ONLY one to crack the code, which is why the government was trying to kill him. I think that the kid in this one is a genius, and the government are hoping to use him. Also, it was a puzzle in a magazine, not a video game. This one is more like a cross between Cloak and Dagger and that made for TV movie starring Gary Coleman about a kid who daydreams too much who accidentally acquired top secret information disguised as a video game. With maybe a little bit of Mercury Rising.

There are way too many people asking why the information was in the game and why a kid was able to find it, it's really not that difficult to goggle the show, or just read the comments, multiple people have commented the name and given an explanation, but since I'm here, Ralph is a genius, his mum works with a team of geniuses who work with Homeland, the game was shown to Ralph by his mum's boss, the information was stolen and the thief manipulated the creator to let him help code and he put it in the secret level of the game for the cartel to find.

20 to 25 years ago I heard of something similar, almost. A science group wanted to enlist the efforts of gamers to work on methods to fold proteins, in order to evaluate some groups of chemical reactions. And they wanted to use game software to do it. Basically get gamers to solve a problem that was too hard to do other ways.
