She is surprisingly one of the more complicated, deeper characters. Like Starr, she has great expressions. You can see so much of her wavering moral compass on her face. Hope she becomes a hero.

I was wishing the "leaks" about Deep becoming Vaught CEO were true but Ashley is so great, we need more strong female characters who are also flawed.

(Plus the Boys still work with the CIA, otherwise they wouldn’t still have an office in the Flat Iron building, Frenchie even makes the point of asking for new job perks in the last episode) Then lets look at all the other main storylines introduced and focused on during the other 7 episodes of this season which have been practically resolved, Solider Boy and every other new supe introduced, Powerless Kimiko, Boys with powers, Hughie & Annie’s power dynamic struggle, MM’s trauma, Stormfront being alive (minor story really), Temp V (unless they fix it so it doesn’t kill you next season). Then they go and tease the same bad guy, Nueman, as they did in the last season finale. Again I’m not saying there was no development at all, but even you’ve got to admit that other than the last episode the rest of the season has been kinda of a write off, the only thing I would probably give you is Stan Edgar not being in charge of Vought, but he’s not dead so he may just come back next season anyway.

well said. i enjoyed the season but it was dissapointing to see that they didnt have the balls to kill anybody important. I guess noir was the big kill of the season, which i didnt really like. The character still had potentiel. Maeve definitely should have died and her powerup in the end didnt make much sense. And like you said the plot didnt really progress!

It's because she doesn't like using her powers so I think she holds back a lot even when she got her upgrade when fighting Soldier Boy she was holding back. She also does not explore her powers or has fun with them and has had no need to do so until getting involved with The Boys and their plans

Maeve had no plot armour- she was killed in the comics. She squares up to Homelander and gets one hit in before he punches her head clean off. She could easily have died here and they chose to give her the happy ending she earned. And unlike Grace I really don’t think she’s coming back- she’s done with her hero shit.

Starlight has the most plot armor. She’s completely useless and no one ever mentions this. For Meave, she had the same reaction as Kimiko getting hurt but still being alive so I don’t see that as plot armor.

My fave of season 3 is episode 4 because of the twists that remind us never to underestimate Homelander, but I totally agree about the fight in episode 6 being better. The fight in episode 8 had too many characters - more isn't always better.

Why should have Soldier Boy or Homelander been killed off? For Soldier Boy literally nothing would have made sense to kill him since the entire season has been basically saying that he's invincible and he can only be put to sleep. And Homelander is the main antagonist and he obviously can't die until he goes on a rampage. And it would have made no sense for him to die because of his character arc. And Homelander just got unleashed in the last scene because now he realizes that he will still be loved by Ryan and his hardcore fans even if he kills people so his biggest weakness of needing to be loved is basically gone.

It's a very toxic possessive love. He strongly implied it was based on her powers and her being like him. Saying once he'd harvested her eggs he'd kill her. Also the way he spoke of Ryan in the past, wanting a boy, wanting to have powers and not be physically weak. It is possible if Ryan didn't have powers HL wouldn't care.

He doesn't love her, he loves the idea of the two strongest super folks being together and having a baby together which is why he wanted to harvest her eggs and then get rid of her.
