I don't see how Hughie's mom could've given Hugh Sr. the V unless she has superspeed. His mom is a figment of his imagination, and starlight blinds homelander... it would be poetic that butcher claps his ears like homelander did to the daredevil guy. The dad wakes up in a bad way (maybe zombie) and can not die but is suffering. Voight exploits that to the public, in the end the virus that kills supes allows the dad to rest in peace.
