Күн бұрынWatch me make this one of my favorite comeback this year lol Seriously, I’m in love with this concept, visually speaking it can only be perfection with The Boyz but I freaking love the execution as well! They really sold me the concept with their acting and the whole atmosphere with the lights, the fumes, the movements of the camera, the different angles, the props etc. Even though the MV is simple, they still managed to make me feel invested and immersed though I didn’t feel afraid.
The song is probably one of their best, the intense « screaming » chorus really gives off an alarming sensation like « wake up » if that makes sense. Or like a war scream ? Like they’re telling us they’re ready for battle and that gives me chills! The rap were impeccable and gave the song a rhythm that I love! The high notes were incredible!!! Probably some of the best I’ve heard from them! Overall this is just a spectacular comeback but it’s true that I wished we could have seen a 10min long version of this so that we could see more of the actual action.

eric said he's the only one survived in that game cause he fell asleep as he hid himself during the game, and when he woke up, the game has just ended and everyone is nowhere to be found.. so he's also a confused mess at the end of the mv

doing the survival concept is literally genius of them. i'm not sure if they decided to quickly put it out bc of the popularity of Squid Game but i think they did this comeback now bc it's the last comeback they have under Cre.ker before they merge with Play M as a company

Oh, I didn't know this, I really hope the team that works with them stays the same then, they are mad creative and created such a distinct image for The Boyz, I'd hate to see that change. If it's just formalities, such as who's under who and name changes then it's okay, I actually hope this can get them more fundings and bigger budgets, they deserve it.

i don't think it was a survival concept , tbh there are just concepts of anything at this point in kpop . squid game is quite different from this . i have seen even EXO do this kinda concept in monster . as for the company cre.ker , i really think they needed more money and was investing some good amount in their past comebacks but they didn't get enough and the company might have gotten in debt . i 'm saying this based upon the views of their comebacks and it's just an observation so don't take it seriously . i have seen the same kind of situation with LOONA where their music videos were of very high quality but their views were not enough so their company went on debt as well.

And no, Cre.Ker did not get bankrupt no when their mother company is Kakao M (the one who compete with CJ to buy Sooman’s SM assets, in other word they are that rich). Cre.Ker famous into invest in people, like all team behind TBZ development is high quality. Plus among gen 4 TBZ got the highest digital and their physical album doing more than good, so no worries about the merge things it’s a business strategy to compete in the wildness music industry.

Apparently the company Cre.ker asked for more investment for tbz but kakaom refused as they don't have any other groups under them(some clause in their contract) and cre.ker also wants to focus on tbz rn. So KakaoM suggested that creker and playm merge an then they can increase the investment

I think what they meant by "protect yourself from what you want" might be alluding to the saying that what you want isn't always what you need. Necessities keep you alive while aspirations tend to leave you stagnant.

2:08 They actually said in their soompi interview that after they appeared in Kingdom they already had the choice between the title tracks Thrill Ride and MAVERICK and even before they promoted Thrill Ride, they already know that they’re going to promote MAVERICK at some point in the future and that happened now 🤩 TMI: As seen in the last part of the MV, Eric is the only survivor since he said yesterday in their comeback showcase that he hid and fell asleep during the whole game and when he woke up, the game ended already and everyone is nowhere to be found hence his confused and shocked reaction in the end. The minute I heard Maverick my jaw was just dropped for the entire MV and they never disappointed once throughout it. This song is genuinely insane and just overwhelming with sound and I love it. Another masterpiece from The Boyz!

The concept is actually more like the movie Battle Royale not Squid Game. If you have time, you can watch it. I watched the movie just because of this boyz. Grrr. Hahahaha. It's good!

they already were preparing to drop maverick right after thrill ride ends (which is why they only promoted for 3 weeks instead of 4) and squid game was released after that so,, its just a coincidence

This concept is "Battle Royale", a Japanese movie from the 2000s. The number is the same as the number in "Giddy Up". And the school uniform is similar to the school uniform I wore during debut song "BOY" The voice in the highlight medley is similar to the voice of a woman explaining the rules in the movie "Battle Royale" In the movie, students in the same class kill each other, leaving only the last one left. The scene where the members move by car in the music video is similar to the scene in the movie where the students travel by bus, and it is similar to wearing necklaces. In the movie, if you help someone, the necklace will burst.
