Sweater dresses that looked like that made a comeback in the 90s. I had one. So did ribbed shirts and 70s style shoes but they were nicer. One store Express even had ugly 70s polyester pants with ugly designs "Brady Bunch trousers". I never saw anyone wearing them.

Homemade school lunches everyday for 6 kids - not to mention breakfast, lunch and dinner for 9 people everyday! I can't imagine the grocery bill!

Given that this was in the 1970's, it was certainly more manageable than it is today but I still definitely agree with you!! It's overwhelming to even think about!

Interesting to say "natural" as Maureen colored/lightened her hair for the last season (something she does to this day). Her natural hair, still technically blonde, was starting to look light brown, so hello Product!

Marcia had her hair in a cute bun for ballet practice, and kept it that way throughout the episode, and all throughout their trip to the amusement park in the next episode.

The actress who plays Jan also played a prison inmate on Murder, She Wrote. She plays a tough bitch with a shotgun who helps start a riot and then takes Angela Lansbury hostage! Boy, Marsha really did a number on her growing up.

Word to the wise. If you're a kid from The Brady Bunch, DON'T THROW ANY THING. Jan throws a baton: glass door breaks. Bobby(?) throws a basketball: Carol's homemade bust of Mike---or was it a lamp or a vase?---gets destroyed. Pete throws a football to Greg: Marcia's nose gets hurt, and badly swollen.

In "The Drummer Boy", Bobby was trying to find a musical instrument he could master. In the tag scene, his parents buy him a baton so he can be a drum major, but he breaks the window tossing it. I wonder if this was the same baton.

There was absolutely nothing ever wrong with Jan but for some reason the show decided to turn her into a joke that I believe affected her in real life, and no wonder.

The show didn’t turn Jan into a joke anymore than it turned any of the other kids into a joke at times. But they did decide, presumably because Eve had some layers to her acting abilities, to play her up at times as angsty because it created drama for the show. They also may have been tapping into some real-life “sisterly” rivalry between Eve and Maureen on the set. What actually turned Jan into a joke or running punchline was the parody films.
