morpheus970 Sorry for the phrasing; was tired this morning. Like seconding a motion; I also want to know what the Gentleman's Magazine is about. Given what would be the normal interpretation of the phrase (i.e. Playboy) it seems incongruous in the archives of The Royal Society.

If it's the original "The Gentleman's Magazine", then I'm afraid it's a rather disappointingly literal title. It was a periodical about the kinds of news, poetry, quotes, literary and philosophical material that the educated gentleman would be interested in. One interesting thing about it is that it was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in the sense of a periodical, in an extended metaphor implying that the gentleman readers would be "armed" with the knowledge/information in the publication just as a soldier would be armed with weapons stored in a magazine (a military warehouse).

I really do love these videos. Brady gets so animated and he really, along with Kieth, makes these videos special. I just wish people would stop making inappropriate jokes about "Brady Large" and such, considering that Brady, Keith, and others put a lot of effort into these videos that they don't have to put in and to get that kind of response is just...disrespectful.

Yes, I'm also curious about these. I'm not sure how they might be used to keep humidity down - there are other ways that don't require a resource that needs to be replenished, so this would seem strange.

It was mentioned of the periodic table videos. Instead of putting the fire out with water, which would damage the artefacts, it uses gas instead which displaces the oxygen and I think it gets sucked away through some vents at the top. They're at the top because the oxygen would have been displaced by a heavier gas, and therefore have risen.

Do an objectivity video on Charles Babbage. See the philisophical transactions 1825 page 485 +/- 10. Most who know of babbage know him as the inventor of the mechanical stored program computer, but none of those really know that he was also an electrical experimenter as well. This much I learned from reading faraday's works from late 1831.
