I echo the comments below as well.. Best wishes and prayers. Lastly.. the first thought that hit my mind kinda freaked me out so not trying to offend or be funny ok? Just thought I'd maybe choose different titles or at least a different genre because who knows.. yes she may be hearing it and know what's what and who's who but on the off chance she's hearing it and not understanding what's happened to her and she's more involved in the stories than you know. As in the story becomes how people experience a dream. I'm sure I'm not explaining myself properly and coming across negatively but I'm totally being serious and hopefully constructive. Thx

Had this one confused with the Space-Eaters story for a moment, which was coincidentally written by the same guy. Funny, that. EDIT: Now that I've listened to it, I wonder if the two stories are connected. The creature's descriptions seem to have some similarities.

_"Hut Hut!_ *HUT!* _"_ Jake Steele, star the Washington ReSkins star quarterback, fell behind the line of scrimmage. At on 4th and long at the Reskins' 35 yard line with seconds left in the game and a Reskins 5 point deficit this was IT. If he didn't get a touchdown the Reskins would lose to arguably one of the worst teams in pro football history. Time crawled as he watched his offensive line collide with the Detroit Lion defensive line. Jake pumped the ball left then right as his receivers raced down field. A Lions lineman broke through, arms outstretched, his red face in a grimace of sweaty hate. Jake dodged left as the brute swept by. Jake looked left, and side eyed right to see his receiver Kareem Malcom X McGiver jinking past a defender into the end zone, hand raised high. Stepping back in a wide stance, Jake hurled the pigskin 70 yards, the red "Warren," the ball maker's name, as it sailed off. He felt good about it but the looming defensive lineman eclipsed the feeling. 350 pounds of meat hit Jake at what felt like 100 mph; he smacked the astroturf like he fell off the moon with the moon on top of him. When visions of dead relatives he never met faded, he groggily wondered if Kareem caught the ball. Staring into the blue sky, the Goodyear Blimp sailed over and its Jumbotron flashed the news to cheering Detroit fans. *YOU FOOL! Warren is DEAD!*

This is bound to be either an alternate timeline tale where Detroit don't suck or a Hunter S Thompson trip report on psychedelic mushrooms where Johnny is tossing the briefcase to Benicio as the cops were pig piling him. The latter is more mathematically possible.. and more interesting lol.

@@stukass8812 it was years ago when I read it. The coach was passing through a forest. It was a winter night of course. When arrived in a house the coach man was screaming that something was eating his head. Two men who dwelled in the house found a small hole like ona made from a bullet and called the doctor. The doctor never revealed what he saw in the man's head. This is all I remember.

“ Old Kranon, the burgomaster, swore that the dark folk had taken the cats away in revenge for the killing of Menes’ kitten; and cursed the caravan and the little boy. But Nith, the lean notary, declared that the old cotter and his wife were more likely persons to suspect; for their hatred of cats was notorious and increasingly bold.” In the far distance a faint cry can just about be heard or was it a scream I can’t quite be sure but anyway it’s time once again for cocoa and unspeakable horror; so goodnight Harley, goodnight Randolph, goodnight Ian and Jen, goodnight The cats of Ulthar and the Night Gaunts, goodnight to everyone wherever you are, whatever you are goodnight.

@@addictiontransfer3731 Its not exactly an in-joke as such so much as just a bit of harmless whimsy that I'm sharing with at least a couple of other people here who post comments and under no circumstances to be taken seriously. There's not all that much left to go anyway, as it's very short, short story yet it remains one of my favorites not just by Lovecraft but by anyone and one that also give the lie to the people who try to argue that Lovecraft wasn't really that good a writer, in fact in my opinion it's well neigh perfect.

Very enjoyable. Just one observation ic I may. I think voicing the diary in a Cockney accent didn't really work. I think it said he was an officer and a gentleman so he probably wouldn't have spoken like that and if he was not an officer but an able seaman from that era I doubt he would have had the education to write with such eloquence. As I say, just an observation.

This one was very creepy, in an icky sexual way, not overtly, but there is only so much throbbing, sucking, slimy, and tentacular probing that a brain can withstand, whilst an alien is achieving an experience of spectacular ecstasy on luminous waves amidst the blackness of another dimension. Of course, I could be wrong, but wetting your cosmic appetite seems like a euphemism for some sort of naughty things. 😜
