Bugatti design chief Achim Anscheidt explains that the decision to maintain the brand's core design elements was intentional. 'It would be easy to make something wacky and statement-making,' he says. 'But this is a brand that has been around for over 100 years, and we want to continue that legacy.'
While performance figures for the Tourbillon are still mostly theoretical, they promise to be mind-boggling. The powertrain will generate a staggering 1,775bhp, with 986bhp from the engine and 789bhp from the three electric motors.
This means that even without engaging the V16 engine, the Tourbillon has four-wheel drive, a 60km electric-only range, and performance that rivals the mighty Ferrari 812 Superfast.
The car boasts a staggering combined output of 1,775bhp:

The Chiron successor's acceleration is equally impressive:
* 0-62mph: Under 2 seconds
* 0-124mph: Under 5 seconds
* 0-186mph: Under 10 seconds
At a price tag of €3.8 million (£3.2 million) plus tax, the Tourbillon certainly isn't for the faint of heart. But the experience it offers is not merely a purchase, but an investment in a piece of automotive history. Bugatti plans to build 250 of these coupes initially, with production scheduled at a rate of 80 per year. Derivatives are also planned for production starting in 2029.
