See that’s the thing tho, while our generation is leagues less violent (although the amount of violence in general is greater by shear volume of humans) our generation is far MORE emotionally toxic. What does that mean? Well, thanks to the anonymity of the internet, you can be as rude, tell as many fallacies and say whatever you want with little to no consequences. So while sure, we don’t put people into elaborate torture chambers on the same scale, but there is an enormous amount of people who will say anything in attempt yo hurt others for there own amusement. There used to be more finesse and excuses people used to do the same thing and justify it based on wrong doings or would just be physically violent. Now? People are toxic just to be toxic, and if that doesn’t show the innate human desire to hurt others for amusement, I don’t know what does. You don’t even have to be violent anymore, just rude. And in its own way, that kind of torture is harder to escape unless your mental fortitude is strong. Moral here? People these are still just as cruel as always, only now our minds are the target. Where as lethal injection is an easy out to a socio/psychopath. On the otherhand it is more equal than axe or sword as both of those depend on skill of the executioner and is also better than many other forms. Some other forms would be impalement, flaying (which is a method of torture and execution at the sane time), burying alive, mauling, etc. Executions can be just as bad as the torture. Flaying is the scaries of all of them.
