Thank you for all that you do for the flight sim community. I am inspired to make the leap and build a single cockpit sim (due to space constraints) and eagerly waiting to see how this progresses. So next purchases are going to be 3d printer(s) and maybe a small desktop cnc
@helimech8152
@helimech8152 Жыл бұрын
A 3d printer is going to be a huge benefit when sim building, A CNC is also a good start, but you might be better off with a K40 laser machine instead.

Very sad to take that apart as a full sim is what we all would like. That said really looking forward to new single seat as this will be more suited to me even though I have your full sim plans just in case one day I have the space and time to build. Great job as always Karl keep up the good work.

Super stoked for the new version. Im looking to move abroad and i will have the room to hopefully do a home build - its a dream eh. Really looking forward to seeing if you can reduce the amount of wires at the back - good luck with that lol... Will be watching for sure.

Hey I’m new to this channel, and just getting into Arduinos . I’m curious how many Arduino boards were used for that project? Did you use the clones? I found you about a week and a half ago. Very inspiring. Can’t wait to see what you do next.
@helimech8152
@helimech8152 Жыл бұрын
Hello Scott, I used between 23-28 Arduinos in the full unit. No multiplexers or shift resgisgerts. That may change now that mobiflight has incorporated them. This was when an Arduino mega cost around $5, not the current $20. And yes I use clones all the way! So much cheaper!

I never stop being amazed at how much work you have put into this. Thanks for letting us be part of your journey. I´m planning to build a desktop version of an A320 as I don´t have space for anything larger. Take a look at this video if you´re interested kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hqedm6ZlmaqUlJ8.html . A fantastic job but he has, as of now, no build plans available so I´m trying to make them. If this is a success maybe I will make a desktop version of a 737 as well.

It was a huge amount of work, but i intend to split each part down into managable sections now. The first thing i have learned, is that the whole model must be created in CAD first. This will stop getting to a certain part and realising it wont work. Ill check out the build now, thank you for the link and good luck!
