The Bridport Branch Line - 1965

10 ай бұрынI was recently given some Standard 8mm footage of a trip from Bridport West Bay to Maiden Newton, which is on the Weymouth Line in Dorset.
There should be more footage on the way and I have started a script about the Bridport Branch Line.

I apologies for the music. The copyright on YT is a real pain, so I had to use something they provided. I will never use it again.

Important archive, the branch was operated by Westbury and Weymouth train crew. David Shepard wanted to save the line to operate his steam locos but could not get enough support for the project. Westbury driver Phil MARSHMAN made a time lapse film Maiden Newton to Bridgeport in one minute.

Considering it was not more than ten years old, that single DMU was in a very poor condition.

I cannot be exact, but it's thought to be around 1965-66.
